So I heard it adapted 30 chapters of the 50. So what's the chance of it getting a second season?

I don't think the remaining content is enough for a second season sadly...

they probably need to wait a bit for the manga to get further ahead. Maybe in about a year or two.

You gonna buy the BDs or at least legit merch so they have money for that desired second season?

@CloxyC you should buy bd especially Japanese bd because of the threshold. If you help break that threshold its more guarantee of a second season.

Sounds like poor sales tactic. That's a whole lot of money in one installment and will deter many fans, especially the juvenile ones, who don't have disposable income of their own.

In contrast, Girls Band Cry vol.1 sold for cheap (~30USD) but had just one episode on the BD and one new song on CD. Later volumes had 2 eps each and sold for ~45-50$ but fans kept buying them, like slowly boiled frogs.

Well, Girls Band Cry is far more expensive than. If you’re considering to buy all of them.
You need to pay for about 57,750JPY for every volume of GBC’s BDs. While Rock was Lady is only 29,800JPY and you’ll get all of the 13 episodes.
The advantage point of GBC is you can buy only some of them and spend less money. And you don’t need to pay for a huge amount of money at once.

English dub of s1 has been announced. That's a logical decision: Modesty Band plays music but not songs, so the dilemma and cost of dealing with lyrics is avoided.

Was previously mentally up in the air on whether or not this series would receive an English dub or not and hadn't put much serious thought into it, but now that this is apparently materializing, do you really think it'll manage to match or surpass Girls Band Cry's popularity in the Western world?

Probably yes, because GBC isn't even popular in the West, regrettably...
Sure, Reddit and Discord posse love the anime and the IRL TogeToge band, but the millions of average / casual Crunchyroll customers just feel MC Iseri Nina is a grating egomaniac and emotionally unstable petulant child, who's a hypocryte and stews in her grudges but also flies off the handle easily. Her public temper tantrums and severe mood swings quickly drain the social batteries of viewers and she's generally a pain in the arse, so they hate her guts. She's also perceived as unbusinesslike (e.g. monologues instead of the singing concert-goers paid for), thus western viewers find her an unworthy heroine unsufferable gremlin. Did I leave anything out?

The average, non-weeb western anime viewer drops GBC early and doesn't look back. A few write reviews, uniformly declaring they would watch if Nina got replaced by a more mellow character, similiar to Awa Subaru or Rupa. In summary, the western perception of Girls Band Cry is polar opposite of Asia, where it has developed a rather broad and strong cult following, who hold Nina-chan the hedgehog very dear.

In contrast, Rock wa Lady has a completely outlandish and cliched story, filled with rather shallow characters - so there isn't much to strongly hate or love about it on a personal level. Unless a viewer is put off by the constant and senseless cussing, he/she is likely to finish the series and give it a 7 or 8/10 review.

GBC doesn't need to argue with Rock Modesty, it can just wait for time to weed things out. The latter title certainly won't be remembered 3-5 years from now.

Anyhow, Togenashi Togeari was performing live at the Anison Matsuri in Los Angeles yesterday. Even in a country unable to accept GBC the anime, the quality of its band is still appreciated.

The manga has enough chapters to release a season 2 and from what I read - and reviewed mind me self-promoting - season 2 is going to be even better. The downside is even if they make a season 2 1 or even 2 years from now, season 3 will take a bit longer because the manga is literally in the early stages of what would be season 3.
