Sakura defintely was caught unaware between of who Yotaro truly is, and aside from him keeping his wife Nagi away from the conflict, Nio thought that he would use his words to sway Yotaro out of it, but it's clear when Isami pulled him back to show that the only way to resolve this is by violence. Nio naively still thinking that he can find Nagi within the dojo, and true indeed, Sakura found her within one of the many rooms, which she already knew this would happen in time to come with the Blood Risshidan, her husband's own pride with Naozumi, as well as her own pride as a new mother.

But just as Nagi's been holding her own fort, the child labour has come, and within the stresses of war, Nio is forced to face an assassin who doesn't care about the dojo, and tries to retaliate even with an actual sword to no avail. Sakura devising an alternative is the best solution for now, as Yotaro and Isami ready for their fight, the former leaving his wife and the Blood Risshidan being the only blood in his veins.

No withholding relations, just a pure fight incoming.

Really good episode to set up the upcoming fight. Sakura really was blindsided by the revelation of Yotaro and his wife.

The first time that Nio draw a real sword is quite anti-climax.

Nio had a very rude awakening talking with Nagi in her house. Even before that he tried to talk sense into Yotaro but he wasn't listening either. Sword drawn with Kondo he knows that it's too late to turn back, Yotaro is set down his path. Nio having that hunch that Nagi was still in the city even if Yotaro believes he sent her away. She was just next door to the dojo in their house. Nio and Sakura wanting to convince her to leave but this pregnant woman is determined. She has a very focused vision of herself and her family. Knowing she can only protect so much, that trying to save people far out of reach offers no benefit to her or her family personally. It's a very cold outlook that's honestly hard to wrap your head around if a person who uses empathy. Nagi however is steadfast in this belief that she can't worry about those innocent people because she's gotta worry about her and her own. Its easy to see why her and Yotaro got along and got married, they're both selfless to a fault. To the point of extreme detriment to themselves and everyone around them. Its going to he very difficult for the Miburo to get out of this without a lot of collateral damage.

I love the pacing and resolve of this show. Wish more shows had the guts let the characters inspiration shine.

Yotaro won't yield and will have to fight a duel with steel against Kondo.
Nio and Sakura find Nagi who goes into labor.
Most of the fires have been stopped by the Miburo but Naozumi still has one place he wants to burn.

Nagi's strong willed women indeed but she should be thinking of a better future for herself and her baby.

I don't wanna say this but Nio's just one of those annoying protagonists or heroes who are more into idealism, nothing can be achieved with just happy day dream, one need to put some work to make it into a reality.

With that, an intense battle's about to happen between Kondo and Yotaro if no one stops them.
