This might be the worst fundraising ever, gathering only 0.0002% of the target (before 1869, 4,000 mon = 1 ryo, and the uniform require 250 ryo while Miburo, technically only Nio and Taro gather just mere 2 mon).

Nice cliffhanger, it makes me excited again. I wish the conflict resolve in a peaceful way, but historically speaking, it's unlikely.

A nice seemingly wholesome episode that started off sweet then as it went on we saw how these characters connected to the bigger picture. All of the Miburo members are trying to get some cash together so they can buy those nice signature blue coats. Nio and Taro not having much luck finding work until that man whom the trio saved way back walks by offering the two some pocket money to help him. Escorting an extremely pregnant extremely air headed woman down the river to her husband. I along with Taro thought some suspicious was going on with her. Turns out she's just not very good at thinking ahead, goes about life one day at a time. Which can be fine but she just seemed off, so I'm glad its not that she's evil it's that she's around the bad guys seeing their meetings and knows something is about to happen. Nio was very kind to her keeping a look out near the water and offering some encouraging words commanding her unique strength. None of the Miburo members got much cash except Hajime who we saw go to that back alley type bar where he picked up a hit contract. There seems to be an awful lot we don't know about him and his past. But luckily the clan backing the Miburo gave them a nice loan so the coats will be bought!

Enjoying how they show all the points of view in this show. Who is ready to change and how we see the next generation expressed in the characters.

This anime had a low-budget, it’s clearly evident. Almost nothing here is truly interesting.

I like Nio’s determination to gain some money and help everyone as much as he can. Yotaro and others are great people.

Saitō looks older than he normally does in this show when viewed from that "snake"'s perspective. Is this Jiro guy the real Saitō Hajime's son?
"Scar", who has the biggest hit on him was the Risshidan member after the shogun.

Nio meets the Funazo from episode 4 again who has turned over a new leaf. He and Taro helps the pregnant wife of a samurai, Nagi who compares his hair to somen noodles. Is it the pregnancy or is Nagi that much of an airhead?

They made 8 mon out of the required 250 ryo, and it was all from Taro and Nio hawking fish. The adults blew the money gambling, drinking etc.
If Saitō got 10 Ryo in the end, it means he killed Hook Nose.

Nagi is Naozumi's brother-in-law...at the dojo she learns the boys who helped her are of the Miburo, the same group Risshidan is at odds with.

Naozumi knows how strong Yotaro is despite his mannerisms and the fact some of his students don't like him. Is it all a bluff or will Kondo, who also owns a dojo, beat him?

For Jiro to earn money by facing off against targets set by the snake lady, that is quite the low blow from someone he once conceded as his enemy.

Nio and Taro getting lucky from Funazo remembering his help to reconcile with his daughter, and encounters the pregnant lady of Nagi being a birdbrain, with a hollow head, but she's easygoing as a result of that. The wife of a samurai dojo martial artist, at least she had a lesson to teach Nio about. And in regard to the money earnt, the Miburo certainly were confident in their total funds...only except they earned 8 mon out of 250 ryo thanks to Nio and Taro, even Hajime chipping in 10 ryo...and the adults were worse than the youngsters. It's only thanks to the loan with Shogun Iemochi that they met their goal.

The surprise of Nagi being part of the Blood Risshidan alongside her brother Yotaro Kyohachi, much less Naozumi's brother-in-law, she's not as much as a birdbrain as I thought, or rather it seems that she's just pretending to be sound at the right moments. But as the killing spree begins to take root, the confrontation for Yotaro being the innocent front for the Risshidan, only time will tell of the inevitable.

For now, it's safe ground.

Nagi and Yotaro are such a happy couple, but now that we know that Naozumi is Yotaro's big brother, trouble is sure to come to this couple.
