The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (light novel)
| Suzumiya Haruhi - love her boundless energy and overwhelming charisma. Nagato Yuki - cool when acts as usual, the cutest thing ever in her "ordinary" mode. Asahina Mikuru - one of the most prominent anime "eye candies" of all time, very endearing personality too. Asakura Ryouko - would like to see more of her under "normal' circumstances, but even besides that she's very stylish and charming. Tsuruya - there wasn't much of her, but she was nice nonetheless. All things considered, I can't select my favorite between Yuki, Mikuru and Haruhi.  |

| Haruhi is a narcissistic sociopath, so a hard pass. Nagato is totally waifu material before she took her glasses off. Especially in her spinoof. Fuck Kyon for his dumb advice! |

| It's hard, it's either Haruhi or Nagato. If it's just as a fictional character, definitely Haruhi. If it's in real life, I'd rather hang out with Nagato. |
| It's always a tough choice between Haruhi and Yuki, but I think I slightly prefer Yuki. She has so many great moments. |

NAGATO BEST GIRL PERIOD |
| I don't really look at Haruhi as a "waifu" (well, most of the times, at least), but she is definitely one of my favourite characters ever in fiction with Kyon. Also, holy shit she's hot as an adult. |

| It's a tough match between the unsung hero of the group (Yuki) who constantly protects our group from sinsiter forces without seeking approval because after all no one notices the bomb that didn't go off which ultimately culminates into disappearance or the rock of the group who's Haruhi who galvanizes your life with energy, comedy and adventure while also being capable of great deal of compassion when her friends are in danger. Having said all that, as much as I love Yuki, I really believe the show wouldn't be as fun or impactful without Haruhi's presence so she edges out slightly. Mikuru is a close third her innocence is just very endearing and adult self adds flavor she grows into this confident and capable woman. Honestly, the entire main cast is phenomenal not just the girls themselves. |
