Banana Fish is a bit more action than it is romance (though those plot points are still pretty central to the story) but it left me an emotional wreck (especially the later half or so), so you might want to check it out

If you are watching to get the feels, nothing quite beats Clannad Afterstory. You need to watch Clannad first to get the full effect of Clannad Afterstory, but totally worth it.

After that I strongly recommend Your Lie in April and Wolf Children.

none of these are strictly romance-focused, but 86, Charlotte, and Little Busters: Refrain (though you gotta watch the 1st season first) had me in pieces (86 even had my friend in a puddle of tears in his uni library lmao)

@IfIspeak Clannad Afterstory deals with Tomoya's life with Nagisa after high school, so there is no more drama with the other girls. However, I can still highly recommend watching, since the show isn't dealing with who Tomoya ends up with and it doesn't really focus on Nagisa so much.
