The movie is listed for 84 min of total run time, how do you feel about this?

Even tho Mitsunaka Susumu is doing both direction and composition, I don't feel very confident about this. Only 84 min for roughly 40 chapters is definitely a rushfest. Tell me what you think about this.

There are going to be 2 movies. But still 3 hours for 40 characters is still alot.

This idea is bad in general. I hate that they chose to "Get this over with" for the money rather than finish one of the best sports Anime in history... Really sad to be honest. The movie is probably gonna be good, but it's not gonna change the fact that we're skipping 6 arcs.

what are you implying? there's 110 chapters which is enough content for 48 episodes=960 minutes. They're giving 2 movies with a 170min runtime. 960? 170? get that?

idk who at Production I.G thought ok let's end one of the most popular and well known sports-shonen into a 3 hour movies which will adapt 110 chapters💀. Totally don't get their logic.

I didn’t know how many chapters we had left to adapt. I just assumed he ment 40 chapters to finish the manga.

I sincerely hope that the two films, even though they are named "FINAL" are not really the end of the adaptation.
The rush would be such a shame.
Two 1h30 films and a final season would be the best.

pisses me off tbh. Nothing we can do about it though. They'll skip most of Brazil if not all, they'll skip Bokuto's match with that major ace on the other team and Ahsaki's? (wrong name? their setter) growth. And end up focusing on Nekoma, the seagull guys and final match. Which is bs. 3 hours 40 is 11 episodes. 11. fucking eleven. that could be the Nekoma and seagulls match alone. It's ridiculous.

Even if they don't skip the epilogue and the shorter match in-between the two main matches, that's still 70 chapters for two movies. If this movie truly covers up to the end of the Nekoma match, then they'll have to cut out 60% of the match to fit 35 chapters in 84 mins...

But the animation and camera work is stunning. That's the sad part. The teasers are polished to perfection. Yuki Hayashi's music and Mitsunaka's exhilarating direction work, we're sure to have an absolute blast of movie but not enough to cover the manga properly 😭

I thought the running time was very short for an anime movie....

However, the short running time makes it easier for repeat viewers to go see the movie again, and it is easy for movie theaters to show the movie several times a day, so I thought the box-office revenue would be quite good.

idk what to think i really hope this wont be the end like 2 movies and thats it! i hope we get more seasons. its just crazy coz nekoma vs karasuno might be the single most awaited match in the series since they teased it back in s1 kinda. One of the coolest things haikyuu did was s3 where the entire season was one match, i havnt seen any other sports anime do that ever and it is still one of the best seasons in a sports anime...but the fact they chose to do a 84 min movie for karasuno and nekoma is kinda disheartening. i havnt read the manga so maybe idk but if they did even like a 10 ep season or something with this match it would be so cool

I read the manga and totally loved the movie tho 🤭 the pacing was fine, they made the match like a real-time match so that's probably why the pacing didn't feel weird at all, I couldn't even tell which chapters they cut without looking back at the manga (but of course the cut Bokuto's mini arc) but I really encourage everyone to watch the movie on theater, it was... FIRE from start to finish! 🤩
