I only watched Bake and Kizu, and I don't think I want to watch it any further because of the scary pedo stuff this show has later in the series (as I've heard). Should I stop it here or should I progress?

No Penguins appear from Nise until Owari so no, you should stop probably

I'd also like to argue that Chainsaw Man has "scary pedo stuff" within the first 2 chapters/episodes in the form of a character grooming another character

If a show that's self-aware enough to make a fourth wall break in Bake ep 11, self-censoring the Koyomi tussling with Mayoi in Bake ep 3 with cartoonish effects, self-censoring Kiss-Shot eating her leg in the 2nd movie and so on and so forth
A show that's self-aware enough that it knows it's a story, it's fictional, what makes you think it's not just played for laughs? Do you think it's a scene that's meant to "satiate" pedos? (excuse my euphemism)

Tbh whether or not you finish monogatari is no concern of mine, nor is the fact this post may be a bait post intentional or not
Just remember to donate to a charity to help children in those unfortunate conditions get out like the Lucy Faithfull Foundation (again excuse my euphemism)

I mean... Sure, it's a pretty strange show but you could try and look past that. Nekomonogatari and second season are really good, so you'd be missing out if you dropped the show. At the end of the day, the important question is whether or not you enjoyed the show (minus the pedophilia).

I stopped at neko but not for your stupid reason but because of the sensory overload this show causes 😵‍💫 could barely explain anything that happens outside of kizu.

like what anyone says here will change your mind, you're forming opinions on stuff you've heard , without even watching the thing.
I've re-watched the whole thing many times now over 4 years , and i only remember it as the single greatest ever written anime i have and will ever see. Stick to watching the 5 sister one guy harem pack you watch every season cus that's all you're worth

I'm a monogatari enthusiast to the core...and i like some wholesome stuff too
