There is only one answer and that is Papa Louie. Possible the biggest video game franchise in the world.

The only cooking themed game I've played was Senran Kagura Bon Appetit, and that nearly destroyed me along with my VitaπŸ˜…

Nothing beats 3D cooking though πŸ˜†πŸ΄

Cooking Mama (the third one Shop & Chop is the best!!) and Burger Island were big parts of my childhood... Overcooked 2 is pretty funny too

Honorable mention also goes to Venba, too bad it's way too short and could use some more puzzles

Venba was pretty good, released this year, a little too short though. But I happen to really like indian food so I enjoyed it, even reproduced some recipes :P

My favorite may be Cooking Mama 3, without too much thoughts. Pretty fun rythm-like game and great replay value :D

Cooking Mama is good, but my personal favourite food-themed videogames are Everyday Today's Menu for Emiya Family and Monster Menu: The Scavenger's Cookbook.
Location: Turin, Italy
Hobby: Music, karate, manga
Favourite food: Hey, why are still interested in my stuff?

I only enjoy the one true cooking series, Tales

Seriously though it's such a key feature since the first game it might as well count as a cooking franchise.

Tales of Phantasia starts it simple, with the optional micro sidequest to buy a apple for Chester's sister, and the 2 main characters hunting for meat. But by endgame you've seen every kind of steak and fish ever, and there's a quest to find all the ingredients of a rare food cooked in the mysterious country of 'Japon'. Plus there's the Yellow Cake item, which isn't food but damages the enemy with a nuke (somehow) and is essential in the hardest dungeon.

All that only in the 1st game, later on food is more complex, unlocks achievements, special dialogue and the taste is a key plot point in Berseria
