3D Anime has shit frame rate. But after speeding up the show by 50%, there is no more lag. Is this the true way to watch 3D Anime?

Why would you speed up by 50%, that is too much. 20% would suffice

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure a lot of shows even purposely drop the framerate to give it that classic choppy anime look. I guess if it works for you though why not.

It probably is.. I watched ghost in the shell in 1.5x speed up and it was more pleasing than normal playback

"Is Speed-Up the secret to watching 3D Anime?"

No, the secret is to get used to its ugliness.

Not to mention those recoded interpolated videos with 60 or 120 fps make the animations in question look even uglier. The only sort of solution would be - original being rendered in 60 fps or more...still if the animators aren't good at choreographing stuff, the result would suck.

There aren't technical tricks to compensate for the lack of animator's abilities. Even motion capture or scrip generated movement need some additional human touch (usually that means adding more lines of code to the script) to look good.

What doesn't have a shit frame rate though?
The only movie I could watch in glorious 4K 60fps HDR was Gemini man, but that movie kinda sucks, if you aren't looking for a Budapest tour guide.

The shit framerate is to blend better with the shit framerate of the 2D animation or to make cel shaded 3D only stuff look more like 2D.
Case 1 is justified even though it's still obvious most of the time. Speeding it up will make it worse most of the time. Backgrounds and dynamic cameras don't count. Those also move fast in pure 2D animation.
Case 2 is dumb because it doesn't take advantage of 3D animation's strengths.
>inb4 someone brings up the lego movie and arc system works

I thought maybe it also speeds up rendering time but anime CG isn't really that complex most of the time so I doubt that's a concern. Maybe some kind insider can answer that though.
