| Monster is literally the only finished anime that’s been on the rise ratings wise... it’s simply new people watching the anime and absolutely loving it. It’s not rocket science. It’s just being well received and highly appreciated more and more by the day as people get into it. |

That’s a different case because the movie ended up being highly rated, which made people who hadn’t watched Violet, watch it and like it. It went down to 8.54 and V.E. has gone up to 8.67. There are also manga and LN that rise but that's probably because of the anime adaptations. |

Never did I state that the sequel can’t make the prequel fall down in ratings. Look at what happened to the promised neverland. The point is, many people here watch anime based on ratings. If they a series or just a season of a series that has a high rating, they’ll check it. If they like it, they’ll rate it high, if they don’t, they rate it low. The violet evegarden movie was only released internationally last year bc of COVID so it’s fairly new and it was a fairly good movie so it’s ratings skyrocketed, thus making people want to check the series. Monster doesn’t have anything that’s new and especially highly rated so people will pay attention to it. Violet evergarden started going up in the ranks only after the movie aired internationally and before that it was falling down. When I first watched the series, it was rated 8.68 and until a few months ago the anime was in the 8.5 range, the movie give it a boost in popularity and ratings. |
