I love this trend of green lighting long-requested new installments to long dormant anime properties. It feels like a miracle that they even got the rights to make this with Gainax now kinda dead. It feels like producers of these anime revivals are finally hearing the online fan demand for more of these properties (Spice and Wolf, Trigun, Fruits Basket, Tokyo Mew Mew, Aria, Devil is a Part Timer, etc. though some of these were made as anniversary projects), and as long as they’re handled well, I love to see it. The staff at Trigger are just as eccentric as Gainax was during PSG’s first season, so it’s hard to see it losing much of essence of the first season, especially if Imaishi’s on-board.

I'm pumped! Many of Studio Trigger's employees used to be at Gainax!
