Another Requiem Stand where the User’s desire at that time is to beat G.E.R.
I truly never understood the hype behind GER being the “most powerful Stand”. From my understanding, a Requiem Stand is a Stand evolution that allows a Stand to do whatever their user wants the most in that moment, but the key is, it’s only temporary. For example, Polnareff’s Silver Chariot Requiem’s ability was to be extremely evasive. More specifically, it kept the arrow away from everyone because Polnareff didn’t want Diavolo to get the arrow. Also, his Stand only appeared invincible, as it had a weakness as discovered by Buccaratti (I think). Now think about it: Silver Chariot’s Requiem evolution makes absolutely zero sense for the Stand itself. Why would a Stand whose main abilities are fencing and swordplay evolve to be highly evasive and nothing else?
Requiem Stands as I understand them are not as definitive as people seem to think they are. Let’s say for example, Polnareff showed up in Part 4 and was fighting Kira when Silver Chariot became a Requiem Stand, and rather than “keep the arrow away from Diavolo”, his desire was something like “Stop Kira from using Sheer Heart Attack”. Its ability would have been completely different from what we saw in Part 5 because Polnareff’s immediate desire in that moment would have been completely different, something more suited to stopping Killer Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack ability.
What I’m saying overall is that GER was only as powerful as it was because of the EXACT situation Giorno obtained the arrow in. Giorno’s ultimate desire in that moment was to defeat Diavolo, a person who’s Stand could skip time and see a temporary future and was effectively invincible when using these abilities. Therefore, Giorno needed a Stand that was capable of countering these abilities, which is how GER as we know it was born. If Giorno was fighting ANYONE ELSE or any other Stand in that moment, GER’s ability would have been completely different, more suited to taking down that particular Stand. Also keep in mind, like Silver Chariot Requiem, GER likely also has some sort of weakness. I have no clue what that would be, and due to the circumstances of the Jojo universe we’ll likely never know.
Also due to the Jojo universe’s circumstances, we’re (likely) never going to canonically see Giorno again, so none of this can really be proven or disproven. Given what we know based on what we have seen with Requiem Stands, it is likely that Giorno is back to having regular Gold Experience.
I guess to formally answer the question, as I said at the beginning, any Requiem Stand created with defeating GER in mind would be capable of defeating GER. But also, there would never really be a situation where someone could fight GER as we know it (Unless someone’s desire was to go back in time and fight Giorno when he had GER during the Diavolo fight. Now THAT would be one hell of an encounter lol). |
