Overanalyzing isnt just stating what actually happened, sex doesn't equal couple, mutual love doesn't equal couple. The anime made it abundantly clear it was not a happy ending and romances that end without a couple usually fall into the unhappy endings.

the show isn't a happy show, it isnt supposed to have a neat wrap up ending. It's easier to just say no relationships at all since that is literally what happens and doesn't involve assumptions and jumping to conclusions. But seeing as this is your take, I take it as if you didn't enjoy this show if thats your takeaway
