| The biggest rollercoaster of emotions for me was definitely Ie Naki Ko. It starts out super depressing, then slowly becomes really fun and happy for a while, then even more depressing than at the beginning and then it ends on a really optimistic note again that perfectly fits the show. Most emotional rides tend to veer more towards the sad feels but in Ie Kai Ko both the sad and happy scenes strenghtened the impact of the other and I've never seen another anime pull it off this seamlessly and have both top 3 happiest and top 3 saddest moment of all time in the same show. During the sad scenes I was silently weeping, during the high times I was jumping with joy in front of the screen. It's one of the reasons that anime will always have a special place in my heart. |

| Mob Psycho 100, especially Season 2. It was perfect for me in every aspect. |

| For me it is Assassination Classroom. While the first season was mostly comedic and had less sad moments than season 2, it still gripped me with it's intense moments. Especially during the exams and the island arc. Season 2 on the other hand had me on the brink of tears for most of it's episodes. Be it all of the different flashbacks, both happy and sad, they all made me cry for how things have turned out. And if course, the last few episodes had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, even if I knew how it will end. In the end, you both cry for the loss or smile for the accomplishments most of the characters have achieved by the end of the series. |

| I cried the most while watching "I want to eat your pancreas" but I got in a serious state of depression for at least a week after watching Ep 6 of "Dororo". Edit : Anime with the Highest Emotional peaks for me : Attack on Titan |

| The manga (and anime) of "Girls' Last Tour" to me. When those climax scenes were shown, I were caught off guard by how delicately the details were written & how brilliantly the characters' relationships were built aforetime. Consequently, I experienced an unprecedentedly melancholic emotion I wouldn't expect from anywhere, anything in my life. |

| True emotional roller coastering - where you are thrown around in all the different kinds of emotions and left mentally bruised in need of therapy - is the domain of visual novels. At least for me. The best can leave you scarred for life. Anime are usually more consistent in tone. Some make me sad and some make me laugh, but they never reach the same emotional peaks. So I can't really pick one specific title that stood out from the usual bunch. As far as light novels go, I haven't read enough of those to say.  |
| If it's purely sadness, then clannad. If it's all emotions like the post is intended, then probably Gintama. It's made me feel everything at a high level |
