Maybe because eren only recently got the warhammer titan powers and can't shape his hardening into anything more complicated than spikes and besides eren is fighting 3 on 1 at this point who do u think has the advantage given all this

Not only Reiner almost every member of alliance got plot armour u will see as the story progresses.

Ratings doesn't matter only enjoyment does.
Masterpiece or mid, generic or fresh,best or worst are all subjective
Eren is goat,and aot is still a masterpiece (eg.subjective opinion)

Maybe Eren isn't used to Warhammer powers and can't use it properly i guess. To learn attack titans power it took a lot of time.

Eren cant transform into a new titan immediately because now he has the powers of war hammer also. As we saw in the part 1 episode, tyber's war hammer can transform only once because it uses a lot of energy. Same is the case with eren. Another reason could be that he just got the hold of war hammer and this is eren's 1st transformation. So naturally he cant make complex weapons just yet.

Basically every character from the 104th cadet corps that was introduced (pass S1) have plenty of plot armor (to the point that it's ridiculous).

War hammer titan needs a lot of strength to build weapons
He was already fighting a 1v2
So in the time needed to make a hammer
Porco or Reiner would have already overpowered Eren
So Eren chose to use his power timely
He's not even close to his full strength at the moment
So he cannot use the full power of the war hammer
Yeah hope this clears everything up

reiner survives the story lol he absolutely has plot armor it’s insane, he’s my favourite character but he should’ve died imo

He just got the warhammer power what a couple of days ago? He didn't get any time to learn how to make a crossbow and shit

Also he can't make a new titan cuz the warhammer spikes that he did drains the power from him, they literally said that in the show so pay attention instead of missing dialogue and then stupidly thikibg that its plot armour

If you go on killing characters the story dies with it, the concept of plot armour is a necessary evil. That being said, you always have the option of not looking too deep into it and just enjoying the show.

- Armoured Titan

- Reiner has proven on multiple occasions to be tough to take down for good

- Eren's new titan is hard to control and energy draining

- Monke could die any moment so Eren needs to get to him asap!!!

- Reiner is pretty important to the overall story of AOT so he has just as much plot armour as any of the other "major" characters I guess

Edit: thx for replies. For those saying Reiner is tough he clearly is just a punching bag. I guess it just takes too much energy to form something (the original warhammer titan must have advantages over the attack titan that has his abilities) but...

Maybe thinking that much ain't good but here's why I think it's a plot hole from isayama to make Marly team strong

Pieck- literally running should be enough to not give a clear shot on eren and even when hit he can transform again (first shot was surprise but that should have been it)

Reiner- he literally took the hardend spike and used it against eren like really ? It would be enough to spam punches on Reiner with hardend hands to finish him

Galliard- he is aiming for the neck so instead of spikes that use too much energy just hardening the neck is enough defense. As of offense he is fast but one punch was enough to deliver great damage

Why try to make marly strong if they are clearly not ? (I can sense gabi fans running miles away to spread some hate)

galliard can broke the Warhammer titán Powers so if eren just hardening his neck galliard could kill him.
Also in the first half of the fight, eren win to Reiner and galliard but when pieck shoot him he start to lose.

I think is most a problem of the anime because in the manga chapter 117-118-119 are happening basicly en the same amount of time, maybe around 20 minutes. Eren geta out of the titán in chater 119, in the manga is so frenétic, i Mean in the anime the pacing is slow sO for that reason You maybe can confuse and think that Isayama made it to Made Marley win but doesnt.

The war hammer titan ability is powerful however it has a huge drawback
Its takes alot of energy to use its ability

And Eren just got the power so he isn't experienced in using its ability

Not just that its an unfair battle Eren is fighting Reiner and Porco alone so its basically a 2v1
