| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Kippei is such a joke of character with Kakeru. He's a "certified" Otaku right. The visual novel feels with the girls and the lovey-dovey assumption, the games reference (from Puyo Puyo to Digimon, Street Fighter to even Kamen Rider), it all reeks Otaku gags one after another. Not sure I like this for a change, but the writing is definitely subpar. I guess the highlight is both Kippei and Kakeru being "foster" brothers for some reason, and that Kakeru's parents were exterminated by some evil Oni. Nevertheless, unrelated but still family, Kippei is a good friend to have for support when all hope seems lost. @Luxeraph oh yeah good analysis, guess they didn't try at all. |

| The heck was this episode, the first half was just gag after gag, never thought Kippei to be more than just a school friend but it seems he's Kakeru foster(?) brother after he lost his family in the incident. Also kinda weird that the whole episode was in 2D. |
| What…. even was this episode? The only thing I liked of it was the 2d animation but wasn’t this show supposed to be full CGI? Would have been better if they used the 2d animation for a plot developing episode imo. Looking forward to the next episode? (I don’t even know what to think anymore xD). |

| Yeah this episode is special for that dude who get left behind because his brother trying to be a real hero. Though, Kakeru shouldn't do that. But the duty prevent him to be a good brother. So, they decide to create this one sole episode to make sure, people won't forget about his existence. Interesting, very interesting direction. I like how they don't forget about the previous dynamic, about the indirect kiss, and too bad the girl won't see thing like dude thought. Alright. Really looking forward to hear Oka's secret. But, her nee-san shall be okay enough to follow for the next week (it seems). |

| This was a nice curveball to chance the pace of the story. Even though a lot of the 2D artstyle looks quite subpar plenty of dynamic artstyle for humor was quite well done, specially the Kippei poses. I certainly can't see this comedic relief episode being done in 3D and providing the same effect with their already built 3D models. Some of the jokes were a bit cringe, but the ones that did land were quite amusing. I loved the SF2 references and the Tokimeki ones too. Normally I find stereotype characters like the fat otaku to be quite obnoxious, but this time, Kippei does stand out of pile of the loud and annoying ones to become the bro that Kakeru needs. |
