no chance. either that or they're just playing it close, but I'll bet it's the former.
December seems likely but I can see it getting delayed to '22. Nobody knows what's up at this point.

No one knows yet but there's no way it's going to air on October the official date is going to be announced on September so let's just wait

I agree with you that it is weird when they have not announced the release date yet.

First, anime production requires multiple steps from numerous companies (drawing, dubbing, filming,..). Unfortunately, during the global pandemic, just one key personnel of Season 2 or their families got Covid, the production can be halted. For example, last month, Hiro Shimono (Zennitsu's VA) got Covid. Because he is famous, we know that information. However, we surely don't know if any rank-and-file animators, art directors, episode directors, or Foley artists were sick. This is just an inevitable situation.

The worst scenario is the disagreement between teams. Disagreement is common for anime, which is adapted from a series. For instance, Ufotable may want to follow one direction, Aniplex or Shueisha or even Gotouge wants another way.

Both situations are not good either.

If it's gonna be 2021, it's probably gonna get announced somewhat late or it's gonna air around the time jojo does (december)

They just want to keep the hype going. That's why it is taking so long just to release a stupid number.

Fair enough. Anyway, the announcement of the release date being that close to the end of September gives me the feeling that an October release is incredibly unlikely. I'm betting on a Winter '22 release.
