Galileo was imprisoned when he discovered that the earth wasn't flat and since those times we have so much more evidence to prove that the earth isnt flat. It is not creative or intelligent to argue for the existence of something that has thousands of counter points that disprove it and there are hundreds of people who has seen the earth from space and know 100% that its a sphere. cognitive dissonance is not a good trait and thats what flat earth is. here are just a few things that prove the earth is a sphere. 1. there are 4-8 astronauts on the international space station that are always there and they constantly revolve around the earth. they take thousands of pictures a year. All of the evidence taken by the international space station shows that the earth is most definitely a globe 2. every other know planet its a sphere shape. We have observed every planet it our solar system in multiple ways , including multiple unmanned probes that sent back images showing every planet in our galactic neighborhood and it clearly showed that every planet in our solar system was a globe shape 3. If the Earth was flat, we would be able to look out and see very far, assuming that there were no buildings in the way. We could see another city that’s hundreds of miles away. Or a ship sailing out to sea. The boat would stay in view no matter how far out to sea it went. 4. If the Earth were flat, then shadows would be the same length, regardless of location. This would mean that the sun is hitting all places on Earth at the same angle, resulting in the same shadow. However, it turns out that this is not the case. If we were to place two identical sticks in the ground in two different places on Earth, we’d find that the length of their shadows differs. This is because the Earth is round, and so the way the sun hits each location will be a bit different. 5. During a lunar eclipse, the Earth passes between the moon and the sun. When that happens, the sun projects Earth’s shadow onto the moon. When this happens, you can actually see the Earth’s shadow if you look up at the moon. If you do this, you’ll see that there is a round shadow, not a flat one. 6.The existence of time zones The time in New York, at the moment these words are written, is 12:00pm. The sun is in the middle of the sky (though it’s hard to see with the current cloud coverage). In Beijing, it’s 12:00am, midnight, and the sun is nowhere to be found. In Adelaide, Australia, it is 1:30am. More than 13 hours ahead. There, the sunset is long gone—so much so, that the sun will soon rise up again at the beginning of a new day.This can only be explained if the world is round, and rotating around its own axis. At a certain point when the sun is shining on one part of the Earth, the opposite side is dark, and vice versa. That allows for time differences and time zones, specifically ones that are larger than 12 hours. 7. 10. Images from space In the past 60 years of space exploration, we’ve launched satellites, probes, and people into space. Some of them got back, some of them still float through the solar system (and almost beyond it), and many transmit amazing images to our receivers on Earth. In all of these photos, the Earth is (wait for it) spherical. The curvature of the Earth is also visible in the many, many, many, many photos snapped by astronauts aboard the International Space Station. |
