Hinata gives off more vibes as the protagonist of the series than Kageyama.......atleast according to the fandom
| I think a lot of people fail to sympathise with Kageyama simply because they've not seen the entirety of his journey in volleyball. When he first got introduced in the story, he was already head and shoulders above many other players his age in term of technical skills, so people sometimes forget that he's not just a "genius", but a young man who worked his butt off to get to where he is now, just like Hinata. No one has ever handed him anything just because, what he achieved is a result of years of hard work and dedication to the sport. Besides, Hinata has always been naturally gifted as well. It has been stressed over and over that he's incredibly athletic and that's something he always possessed, it's not an acquired skill. Personally, I will be satisfied with either outcome of this match. Furudate has tried to convey to the readers many times that it's not the destination that counts, but the journey, what you learn along the way and what you will become tomorrow. Even if Hinata were to lose here, that would not undermine his status as main character and it would not cheapen his beautiful journey. |

Bakugou doesn't get nearly as much screentime as Kageyama though which is what makes him a protagonist. Kageyama and Hinata have probably a shared screentime of like 40/60 most likely in favor of Hinata. I have always thought of it as Hinata's story but only because he's the perfect shounen protagonist lol. As far as storytelling goes Kageyama doesn't get the Sasuke/Bakugou treatment, he's deeply rooted into the story as his own person and not as an extension of Hinata. |
