I myself watch reactions quite often, especially about the more hyped up anime (episodes), but there are a few channels I follow and watch them regularly.

Just some of my favorites:

- SphericalFilms
- Kimchi & Tofu
- Teeaboo

But there are other great channels too.

How about you?

I watch Kimchi & Tofu a lot too, pretty much all reactions they make beside anime I absolutly can not get into. Also sometimes I watch these Mashups with like 15+ people put into one vid

I don't really understand the appeal, even when people explain it. If the person knew a series so well they could break down new content and critically interpret their impressions in a reaction format video that's one thing, but I'm not here to watch another guy masturbate onto the screen.

I don't, I think they're annoying and I doubt they're that overdramtic when they watch something alone

Probably most of them doesn't act like that alone, that's true. But not all of them screams and overreacts everything. There are many reactors who actually watch through the episode without screaming and talking all the time. There are some of them who know when they need to stay quiet, but many really just don't know when to shut up, I know that.

Like I've watched many reaction of that episode of KnY, probably like 30+, and there were some really annoying persons. It's fine if they got really excited, I did too, and it's fine if they scream a bit, if that's how they express their emotions, but when they go like: "OHHH MYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD LEEETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OMFG GNJRENTWHZNTNERTEBH5R GOOOOO TANJIRO WHAAAAAAAAAAA RFMWEVNTJERNBTERH". Yeah that's annoying af.

Very rarely. mostly if something big happened and i want to watch the episode/ scene again, i sometimes look for someone reacting to it.

Only exception would be Shokugeki no Souma, where i saw another chef react to the series to hear how he feel about the series and hes opinion about it.

I watch them very rarely, they come across as being too fake a lot of the time. I admit, ones where it's someones parents can be quite funny. Watched one on Dr.Stone recently.

When i watch something i'm just like (-_-) So i'd be pretty boring for a reaction video.

Anime is a different topic tho. I want to discover it by myself and not throu others.

Even if there is people that wouldn't necessarily have any interets in those sort of videos,i actually kind of enjoy the fact that these videos exist, because i find enjoyment in seeing other people reacting to episodes of ongoing seasonal animes i have just seen a second ago.It adds an entertainemnt value to watching it a second time.I would be pretty sad if those kind of videos dissapeared.

I never go looking for them since it's tiresome watching someone watch anime for 20 minutes

well, when attack on titan aired especially the latest season i like to see the reactions from Kimchi and Tofu. they always make a good reviews that most of reactors dont. even the girl (tofu isnt it?) can review it very nicely and see through every episodes so well since she is not a manga reader.

Yeah, some are especially if they're reactions are funny or have good post-reaction thoughts. To name a few:

- Semblance of Sanity (SOS bros), brothers that has good analysis after their reactions.

- YaBoiRoshi, the trio has great chemistry. They all (including their editor) crack jokes but still pay attention to what their reacting to.

Honorable Mentions:

- Goodwin TV, a new-ish reactor but has really good analysis during his reaction.

- The Normies, more casual reactors when it comes to anime, but they are slowly gaining a bigger library of anime reactions.

- Blindwave, upload schedule can be slower than the other channels, but their consistent.

Nah, stuff like that doesn't really appeal to me. I'd have to already be invested in the person to care what their reaction to something is. Reviews make more sense, but I don't care for majority of Anime Youtube in the first place so It's not something I see myself ever watching anyway.

I said "I feel", it's subjective. That's how some seem to me, the same way you think they're not!

Oh, that's another anime-related content I watch sometimes and completely forgot lol
I mostly watch reactions for specific scenes or episodes. I think SuperMechaFrieza is the one I've watched the most, cause I like that she gets really invested in shows and that she gives her thoughts after every episode... Oh, and we've got a similar taste in husbandos as well lol
And I've watched quite a few Uzumaki Khan videos, he's really enteraining lol

I watch reactions of my favorite episodes/scenes.

I currently watch RTTV , they're not the best xD but they're funny as hell when they start arguing and roasting each other.

I don't know about most people. But for me, I watch reaction videos because it's fun to see people's fresh reaction and excitement to anime that I like. It's almost as if I'm reliving the experience through them.

2. Isn't this a sign that some people constantly compare them to other people to see if they are fitting the community or not?

Does watching someone review a game or discuss their opinion on any subject mean you are comparing them? No, you’re there to see what other people’s reactions are to the subject. People like perspective.

That's exactly it! A lot of people in this thread don't seem to realize that just because they don't enjoy something doesn't automatically make it a "waste of time."
