to everyone who say modern anime character design is generic, i'm sorry but do i need glasses?

Bad examples tho.

Kill la Kill - 2013 also Sushio is a veteran designer. He has older designs that look like that.
Redline - 2009 and was developed for 7 years
JoJo - the concept design is from 1986
Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei - 2010 (the screencap could be from the movie but still same design)
Haikyuu - 2014, looks like shit and it's pretty generic. Kind of counterexample.
Kaiji - the concept design is from 1996

So you got One Punch Man (the redesign of the manga), Kakegurui (which looks like shit) and Prison School (ewww).

Not the I am against your statement, modern anime is pretty diverse as styles (the opposite of generic) but your examples are not showing that.

Talk about a terrible take. Furudate's general artwork and designs are already great and very much distinctive, and Kishida's design work just makes that shine even more.

We don't. Cel animation is overrated and does not look better than modern anime. Cowboy Bebop is a rare exception, which looks far better than pretty much every anime from any time period, and even better than just about every anime movie too. However, it is important to remember that Cowboy Bebop is an anamoly. Meanwhile, One Piece has the ugliest art style every made, and looks even worse when cel-shaded. Pokemon looks a lot better in the XY era than in the Kanto series.

I think it would be nice if there was a small number of cel animation again in part because the cels could be sold off

At the very least more digital animation that mimics some of the positive qualities of cel animation should be produced. Spirited Away is one example of digital animation that mimics cel animation. It's not exactly the medium that makes the end result good but more so about the way the artwork is drawn, coloured and finished.

Long running TV shows aren't really good examples. A few reasons for this. The character designs get tweaked to be improved over time or the artists drawing it just get really good at it. The original stuff was meant for SD TVs while modern stuff for 1080p or even 4K HD TVs and at different aspect ratios and chances are you might not be watching the old stuff on a CRT monitor like it was originally intended for which will have mixed results. Cel animation is a slower process than digital so it's best doesnt show up as much in TV series because time constraints, more so in OVAs and movies. Movies meant for release in a cinema is likely where you would find highest quality because they were intended for that big screen in mind.

Naaah, it's a fair take - the faces of the characters there look like facing forward fishes, not humans. Yes, they somehow got rest of the anatomy for the sport part, but man those faces...By the way, Back Clover is a similar case.
