DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- A pretty but uninteresting adaptation of the chapter previously seen in the 1968 movie, trading its idea for more yôkai & action. | CGI and various special photographic effects for sea water? That glasses guy on the island who overheard the conversation...Shigeru Mizuki cameo? He was on the Pacific front during the war. Well, the manga story was better, but at least the adaptation looked nice as always. Didn't expect to hear Furuya Toru here. Rei_III said: @St0rmblade Oh, you've read the original chapter? I haven't seen other adaptations so no comment on it, but the manga didn't have any island youkai involved at all, and the scientist was the bad guy.
