I think so too. If you read visual novel, you'll understand that there cannot be a straightforward adaptation like it was with first steins;gate. Studio need this "new content" to tie all roots together. So you either do it well by trying to adapt, or you absolutely fail being "faithful" to the VN.

Don't forget S;G0 VN is coming on Steam on 8th of May. ;)
Watching the anime first will probably be the better experience. VN had enough interesting material from the non-main endings so it wouldn't be that big of a loss knowing how it ends, and the added information from the anime should make it less confusing.

Yeah, the only purpose I see of that scene was to justify why

It didn't contribute with absolutely anything to the plot, its existence was just an annoying one-moment shock factor that kinda ruined some of the story impact in that part, it really was retarded. I was hoping they would just ignore that in the anime because it won't change anything, otherwise some people will definitely get triggered over it.

I have heard that this director loves to do full-fledged zoomed in faces as a way to save budget, that was one of the biggest complains I have heard for Qualidea (Whatever Q it is) Code.

Looking at this PV, I can see so many, I can't help but worry.
