| Oh get it now. He's in medicine, and he's the Japanese "Dr Watson". Quite the old reference if this was from the Meiji-era of Holmes. I thought Jirokichi in the preview sounded different, then I later found out his previous voice actor passed at 82 a few years ago. When Kogoro's voice actor changed, I quickly got used to it since both sounded good. But Jirokichi's voice was so much more distinctive that it's hard to hear anyone else match that. That, and Ran "confessing" to Kazuha on Heiji's behalf, while onlookers stare. Considering all of their murder cases are solved by a kids not yet legally allowed to drink...maybe they've just gotten used to having their jobs done for them at this point. |
