| Qualidea Code is one the most underrated anime I have ever seen,the story only really picks up around the end of episode 4 and most people just drop it after the 1st episode thinking it's just another "generic" anime |

| A couple of these I've rated 10's but I don't think MAL has been unduly unkind rating-wise to them -- they are simply titles that personally resonated with me and may or may not with you as well. [Personal Rtg vs. MAL] [10 vs. 7.47] Maria-sama ga Miteru (aka Marimite) Four seasons of all-girl school drama (with mild/platonic shoujo-ai). All I can say is I fell in love with this series that features short drama arcs featuring all of the mc's through those 4 seasons -- so top marks for character development. Did I mention it's my fav franchise? Consider it mentioned :) More info here and here. [9 vs. 7.86] Oniisama e While Marimite has its share of drama Oniisama e turns it up several notches. Older graphics but a must-see for shoujo-ai fans (for that matter any fan of intense personal drama). [10 vs. 7.66] Girls und Panzer -- For when you want to just turn the brain off and grin like a fool at the over-the-top characters and incongruousness of girls getting ornery with heavy ordnance. Jaunty OST and well-paced action for 12 episodes capped with a multiple-award winning movie sequel (though there is an OVA episode in-between). [8 vs. 7.86] K-On! The iconic Cute Girls Doing Cute Things franchise as only Kyoto Animaton can deliver. [9 vs. 7.59] So Ra No Wo To Cute girls in the military, post-apoc, SoL/drama. At turns funny and serious. Character chemistry and OST got this one into my top 10. [8 vs. 7.81] Seikai no Monshou Perhaps not so much under-rated as under-exposed --with only 28k users. This is more of a romance with some space action thrown in rather than the other way around. [8 vs. 7.31] El Cazador de la Bruja A bit off the beaten track --considering that the setting is Mexico and the characters are always on the move. It's one of the "Girls With Guns" trilogy set by Bee Train (the others being Madlax and Noir (both of which I haven't seen yet so I won't comment on). |
