| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- Without ever diving headfirst into heavy drama, most of Himari and Kai's encounters consisted of only lighthearted slice of life moments. This made for a pleasurable read although things were a little stale for some parts. The final two chapters brought the main dilemma to light and I thought it was resolved in a fairly conventional manner, perhaps even a little contrived. It's a shame we don't get to see more of Hinozaki and Yae's relationship go further which could've done with some extra focus. That said, the foundation of that subplot was well laid. All up, this manga was a rather generic take on a first time dating without much in the way of dramatic moments. The art is wonderful with our pretty cast and portray this little tale with fluffy clouds that get the happy atmosphere across. Maybe there could've been something more done with the story to make it more dynamic and drag less in some parts, but in the end there's something about an innocent dating experience that warms the heart even if they haven't gone to hell and back to make it work. Which I think is valuable in its own right. 7/10 |

Anyhow I'm a bit sad that this manga is so short. Would have loved to see more on Yae and Hino's story :) |

I think everyone agrees Yae x Hinozaki stole the show. For some reason though, I could never truly sympathize with Hinozaki. He reminds me so much of Satoshi Fukube from Hyouka, whom I always disliked as a person (but he's an interesting character). |
