| I never really thought about this until the latest episode when Goku asked why Gohan didn't go Super Saiyan. But he went super saiyan every other time he needed to. What's the point of going super saiyan if it doesn't benefit him anymore? In the Major Buu arc, he achieved his ultimate form. Why is it that up until the latest episode he seemed to forget all about that? |

| My guess is because he stopped fighting after he lost to Buu in the Majin Buu arc. He pretty much gave up on fighting entirely after that until the Resurrection F arc. He lost his fighting instinct, and I think that locked him out of his mystic form, aka his true potential unleashed. That or the people working on the show forgot about his mystic form, that's always plausible as well. |

| I think because he had stopped martial arts he couldn't use his Ultimate form, so he user the much easier SS form, but now that he started training, he was able to use Ultimate once again. |

| "Use" an ultimate "form"? Seems like I never understood what happened to him in those chapters then, because it looked like the Elder simply made his "potential" strength always available without resorting to anything. |
| The reason is because Toriyama doesn't give a shit about this franchise anymore. |
