I consider Naruto Shippuden to be a very worthy and successful continuation of the original series. I wish I could say the same about Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.

i didnt watch this show as a child so i dont have nostalgia goggles and can say this sits RIGHT behind hxh and in front of steins gate for me. idc who u are. if u hate naruto u either are a one piece fan and i dont trust u cus of ur bias orrrr u dont like battle anime and even then naruto is soooo much more than that
Watched twice, second time without fillers. Still thinking about watching fillers, because some of them are interesting. Overall great anime, that evokes deep emotions in a person.

Naruto x Hinata, and Naruto's family are the most beautiful drama pieces of this anime! And of course some battles are amazing! Naruto as a character and many others are truly amazing. Naruto is really a splendid legendary character, with all his backstory and character development.
Ep 327, 328 flashbacks of Naruto and Kyuubi accepting Naruto is beautiful.
Ep 330 everyone's spirits are high with Naruto fighting Obito!
[Episode 335-336:] Kabuto's backstory.
[Episode 344:] Tobi is Obito!!!
[Episode 345-346:] Obito's past.
[Episode 347-348:] The start of Akatsuki with Obito's influence.
[Episode 349:] Kakashi's trauma and Minato becoming The Fourth Hokage. And Kakashi becomes an anbu as Minato's rightarm.

... Finally completing the anime after 5 years of completing the manga, it was a great experience. Even though the filler ending was plain and disappointing, and the last fights, especially Naruto vs Sasuke wasn't that good of a battle compared to the Naruto battles and some battles in Naruto Shippuden.
Overall though, the story is amazing with the whole twist of Zetsu being the mastermind of the fourth great ninja war to bring back Kaguya the original who brought chakra to earth, by manipulating generations and Madara to help him unintentionally, and even turn the Itachi in the wrong direction all for his plan.
I'd have to start watching Boruto but I wish the anime showed Naruto and Hinata years later with their children as Hokage like the last chapter of the manga.
Although if they show that in the first chapter of Boruto, I guess it doesn't matter.
The romance was interesting in the beginning but Kishimoto is a horrible creator of romance. Unfortunately he doesn't properly focus on the romance and build it properly. A lot of the couples are random, including how Naruto finally realized his feelings for Hinata. I hate the movie for that reason, or else he arguably would have never truly love her with how dense he is and how shy she was.
Amazing experience of action. One of the best. But the romance is really lacking. Even though some moments are cute. The comedy was decent at time. Some filler episodes were horrible.
The extra depth of story and action filler was really good though for the most part if I remember right.
