| Dragon Ball Super's new color palette increases the contrast between the character cel shading and cel shadowing. Goku looks most affected by the color change. The lines are now being used with a chiseled brush which gives a variance thin and thick lines, rather than the flat brush that makes all lines the same thickness that has been used for most of the series. The flat brush has been present for Occasionally the chiseled brush appeared in the past, like the infamous episode 4. And finally character colors are polished and blended more with this technique. It gives the colors much more of a anti-aliased effect that blends the shading a bit.  |

I think the last two episodes have pulled this new style off well. The new colour palette is a step closer to DBZ's old scheme, which IMO was the best color palette of the entire franchise. I do have some worries with the chiseled brush, episode 4 was ruined by a novice animator's improper use of it and it was distracting. Hopefully that never happens again. I don't know if this new style is permanent or not, but since pretty much the entire new opening uses the art style I assume it's here to stay.  |

| I think they used this art style because it gives them more options and freedom in fight scenes, for example, in the OP we can see a fast punch fight scene (which DBZ was famous for)while in the entirety of DBS it was absent.Also, maybe we will start to see some fast paced fights and some nice beam shots like in DBZ. |
