| starting with a comedy for you non otaku friends is usually a bad move in most of those the kind of humor is way too diferent from the kind they are used to to appeal for them also most of those relie heavely on knowing tropes and cliches from anime genres for jokes so those guys would probably not be able to understand it i have not started the show to say this for sure though |

You showed anime to some casuals that wasn't popular action show SnK or SAO, what answer did you expect from them? |

I did not know what to expect, but I did know that I wanted to share an evening with my friends. As for the other questions, it depends. A lot of my friends watch anime for entertainment. Others watch it because they want to learn a little about Japan. Still others watch it to learn about some of life's biggest questions. It depends on what you watch and your relationship with the works. So, that's my take, and I've enjoyed reading everyone's comments. It just proves that the community is still alive and kickin'. |

| Initially, I wasn't sure about it but was convinced by others to keep watching. As I carried on, I began to realise more and more that this show understands human moments more than most. There are so many little moments throughout the show that make me sigh with a mix of joy and content, because it seems like that sort of thing could really happen. One of my favourites comes at the end of episode 6, where Tetsuo is pretending to sleep so she doesn't disturb the conversation between Machi and Hikari's dad. They both leave and he gets up and says: "Sometimes it's best not to say anything at all". It's a kind of character writing I'm not used to seeing in anime and could genuinely teach you things about being a better person. I also love absolutely everything about episode 5. Well, there you go. That's why I'm watching the show. |
