| I found the overall thing to be kinda boring. Mashu and protag are as generic as they come, along with tsundere girl. One thing I liked though was caster. He should've been the protag tbh. And I also liked how medusas new outfit actually looks like something that would be worn in an older time period instead of the modern looking s&m outfit from the original. Plus snakes in hair is an improvement |

| Welp, that was a thing. Felt like a rushed sequence of events only loosely connected together in something resembling a "story" with a bunch of Fate references and a stereotypical waifu-bait up front. This probably could've been more interesting if they had stretched it to a couple hours and did a proper job, but as it sits its just really mediocre. And what's the deal with just randomly torturing Director chick for all eternity? Were we supposed to feel bad for her? Christ, Sachi had more screen time in SAO to get attached to than whatever the hell that was, and even she could've used more! Just came off as torture-porn to me without any real narrative purpose; edgy as fuck. All the characters aside from Caster were just bland cut-outs. I'll say that at least the art was alright because Fate, and the Lancer.... oops, I mean Caster battles were kind of cool. Mediocre fight direction (seriously, just standing there with a shield while someone pounds away is lame), mediocre characters, mediocre soundtrack, mediocre story. I'll give it a 6/10 for some cool ideas, but that seems overly generous. Edit: And the fact that the score for this one is somehow higher than Gi(a)rlish Number's score is really blowing my mind right now. Fate fanbois gonna Fate, especially with that pink-haired Rei-clone waifu to bait them. |

YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO LIKE HER". Even this special highlights that on how the SelfInsertProtag should instantly like her and think she is just the best. Hey, now I'm thinking you're vastly overexaggerating. It's truth she's a bit bland to my tastes, but her story was just fine and she's pretty sympathetic. This isn't like Olga's case whose entire backstory was shoved down our throats in a badly clunky way when she was a stranger for the purpose of pity (anime fixed this, thank you Nasu!). She remained a mystery until the latest orders, once there's been built up of Mashu as an ally and friend. Maybe she's your particular taste, but she's pretty fine and she fulfills her role nicely. |
The purpose of GE anime was to promote GE Resurrection and GE 2 Rage Burst. It didn't mean to be a stand-alone anime. The anime did a really good job adapting the beginning of GER. You have to play the game to know what happens after the anime ends. So your "should" doesn't apply in this case. |

How does Caster Cu manage to kill Saber Alter Here despite it being his nerf class(as in one of weakest he can be in) and Saber having insane resistance to magic that even someone from age of gods like FSN Caster(Who could technically trounce Caster Cu in a single hit) could not do anything against? Power of friendship and Asspulls. FGO runs on that. Not only runs on that but takes it to Pokemon level of friendship-wank. There's not a single definitive rule in FGO. The HS that shield belongs to is revealed latter. It's pretty hard to fuck up an adaptation of such a simple story like GE, and while UFO didn't do anything egregious, it took a story that was mostly meant to justify gameplay elements and did very little to make it more interesting IMO, and Lenka being the biggest example of what absolutely sucked as an anime-original addition. |
