I expected Re:Zero to win because it's just the type of anime that naturally appeals to a wider audience, and it is good, plus it was released a while ago, had more time to build up hype and momentum, while Yuri on Ice only just aired a few months. YOI has done really well for what it is, it's most definitely going to sell extremely well, has received exceptional reviews where it matters, many real life champion figure skaters love and support it and it's undeniably extremely popular worldwide. tldr; don't worry about it OP ^^ |

 Anime was the catalyst of my life's downward spiral. Joining MAL was the nail in my coffin.  Every day I keep screaming into the void, but god just tells me to shut up. |

| Not disappointed YOI lost to a show with twice the number of episodes and that's been around since April, compared to YOI which started in October. No duh it didn't win the top spot in many countries. What's depressing is that Re:Zero won. |

| I don't really mind it that much to be honest. I mean re:zero is more for everyone and YoI is something that you either like or really dislike. I personally didn't think re:zero was that great, but I'm not against the fact it was chosen as best. |
