A waifu is just a reflection of qualities I like, not a replacement. Also a source of ideas to experiment with irl with a 3D grill. If she's the one, she'll want to try things.

My waifu is from a visual novel and anime. (Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!) The full waifu experience.

I don't have any waifus but I do have female favorite chars.

My #1 Fav Char happens to be female.

Not even close to being for romantic reasons. I can't be in love something that's not real *shrugs*. Their visuals are pretty cool though.

My fav female chars is 100% based on personality. (and 25% looks. Ignore the math behind it.)

(Off topic)
@YayaChibi was using your conveniently placed OP comment list to write this when I noticed that you've never been sexually attracted to another human... porn or not. How the hell--- Are you really young or something? or just asexual?

(back on topic)
All of my fav chars (female or not) are similar to me in some way. I typically find them to be admirable as well.

Do I get jealous... Actually, yeah sometimes XD. I'm usually like "Damn, this guy doesn't deserve this girl." but other times I'm like, "I'm so happy for her T^Tb". and I do indeed have many favorite females.

Yeah, it's not a real relationship, so I'm not really "in" to the whole waifu thing.

Yeah, waifu stuff is usually virgin stuff bcz it doesn't make sense otherwise.

I'm not a weeb, so that's probably why.

I'm not into the whole waifu/husbando, but to me a waifu/husbando is a fictional spouse or since I'm a fan of shipping. It's a character that a person will ship themselves with.

For me they aren't waifus but favorite characters. Don't have any romantic affections towards them but I really admire and love their personalities despite their downs and looking up to their ideals or relate to them.

But I admit I have heavy reactions towards feeling sorry or wishing happiness for them and that stuff.. But nothing more.

Do you select a waifu as a fictional lover, or as a 'number 1 favourite character'?

well if she was real i'd marry and love her but she isnt so i guess its more towards fictional lover but not like im gonna devote myself to fiction

If it's for 'romantic' reasons, is it only about their visual appearance, because it's not a real relationship.... or do you also factor in their personality traits? In addition to that, I wonder, do you select a waifu for reasons relating to their personalities in the same way you would choose a girl to date in real life, or do you value different personalities that you consider nice, but not something you'd want to live with irl (e.g tsundere, yandere).

no its not just visual, chose her because of the extreme devotion and passion she displays.

Do you value your waifu because she's similar to you, or because she's something you aspire to be? Do you get jealous thinking about your waifu with a character from the anime/manga she originates from? Do you choose to have one waifu and many favourites, or just many waifus?

definitely more 'aspire to be'. Nah tomoki is a good man. personally i just chose one.

"No waifu no laifu."

To answer OP's questions.

Of course having a waifu means she's my most favorite female character. Although there's a slight feeling that I "love" my waifu though it doesn't seem an issue to me because I have a girlfriend-to-be too so it's like I have a lover on both 2D and 3D.

Given my waifu(Tachibana Kimika from Subarashiki Hibi), I value her because yes she's more or less similar to me and at the same time she's something I aspire to be.

I don't get jealous if she's with her main love interest. In fact, I'm shipping them hard and I want to see more of them being together.

Overall, my waifu has the personality that I've ever seen and I relate to her. Given that she's very cute in many ways is a plus.

One thing about my waifu, she's my waifu not because of my preferred qualities of looking a waifu but because her extreme uniqueness, maybe which is why I feel something much more "stronger" love on my waifu than my previous waifu(In which she's based on my preferred qualities). It's some sort of similar on when you're looking for an ideal woman but you get in love with someone who's not your ideal woman but you strongly love her(Reason can vary from person to person).

. My cartoon waifu is a fictional lover and top fav female cartoon character while my anime waifu is just my top fav female anime character.

. I like both my cartoon waifu's and anime waifu's looks and personalities.

. I guess so. My cartoon waifu irl would be like my home girl while my anime waifu would be the onee-san I never had but not related to me.

.No, I don't like tsunderes and yanderes.

.No I'm not a jealous guy. I think Keichii is a good guy for Belldandy and I have imagined my cartoon waifu in a lesbian relationship with Tsunade from Naruto.

. I have only one waifu for anime and only one waifu for cartoons. I don't have multiple waifus for each.

What is the male term for waifu?
Why do we always have to talk about waifus?
Why can't we talk about haifus?

It just boils down to "a fictional character I really like." It is kind of like when you're doing an RP and you claim dibs on a certain character. That's how I view it.

>Miyako and not any of the other characters, smh jk, ilu bruh

Majikoi has a lot of great characters, though.

Honestly I don't actually use the word waifu seriously. A "Waifu' to me, is an ironic term that i use for someone who embodies traits that i particularly like. That's all.

I choosed a waifu both as a favorite character and also as a virtual lover. I'm not quite interested in real life people.

Basically just my favorite anime girl who's hot as hell :^)
I have a shirt, a fig and a wallscroll of mai waifu because they looked pretty cool, but I don't give a rats ass about the whole "no lewding mai waifu" or "I only fap to mai waifu" thing. She's still just a drawing to me and nothing more.

(Tokisaki Kurumi btw) With Black Hanekawa as a close second

Always been more of a Wanko fan myself. Even if it's just for that unfortunate-translation nickname...

I can identify three waifus.
They are each waifus, mascots of my favourite series, symbols, anthems of my life, they are lovely, and each of them is in her own world.
They are my ideals of love, of dedication, of personality, of life.

I don't really have a waifu/husbando because I don't have a ''most favourite'' character. I love many of them.
But I guess if I really had to choose, I'd choose Naruto because he's the one that inspired me the most and I love his personality :p
And yeah, I definitely don't see this as a relationship. Just me liking an anime character very much.

I don't know, I like that "my babies / sons / daughters"-meme better, because it's feels accurate to me. XD It's about caring very much about some favorite characters and so on.

I can't bring myself to have actually romantic and sexual feelings for a fictional character, others than: "Yeah, this character is beautiful and I appreciate that fact. Nice to look at you. :D"
Never thought about it, because they aren't real anyway, but well... if they were, I'd friends with them and there are some cuties, I really could imagine to fall for, if they were real, to be really honest.

That whole waifu/husbando-thing is nothing more than a meme to many people in first place.
