Yakuza. As basic as the fighting system was, I loved the city, I loved the action flick-like story, and I loved the ability to use anything around me as a weapon. Also, Mark Hamill as Majima. Nuff said

Without thinking too long of one, Yoshi's Island. It always seems to be overshadowed by those other two Mario games.

Shadow of Colossus (Ps2)- One of the most underrated games of all time. Unique as hell and enjoyable. One of the best games I have ever played.

Lost Planet (XBox 360)- I don't know why this game didn't get all the appraise it deserved. It was flawless. All the gun fights, environments and all. I hope LP2 gets more recognition than the first one.

Shadow of the Colossus isn't really underrated.
It got great reviews, and descent sales.

And my favorite underdog...is Lufia II/Estpolis.
Great game, descent story, fun puzzles, fun battle system, GREAT characters.
Overall, just my favorite game in the entire world.

I'm also EXTREMELY excited for its NDS remake, which is featuring a BOMB ASS SEIYUU LIST.

Nakamura Yuuichi (Okazaki - Clannad)? Inoue Marina (Yoko - TTGL)? Sugita Tomokazu (Kyon - Haruhi Suzumiya)? Konishi Katsuyuk (Kamina - TTGL)i? Toyosaki Ak (Yui - K-On!)i?

Sure they have their flaws, but Evil Dead: Hail to the King, Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick, and Evil Dead: Regeneration.

Another one is Mirror's Edge. I will admit, the combat was clunky, some of the acrobatic requirements were unreasonable and I didn't care at all for the story; but it was a refreshing and at times exhilarating experience that felt much more natural than a lot of other 3D platformers.

I'll agree with that. I actually found that it was pretty fun to play through the game without using weapons at all (it makes more sense in the context of the story not to be running around killing cops anyway).

But yeah, I didn't have any issues with the game's length, and didn't find it disappointing at all. Those seemed to be common complaints when the game first came out.

Best Japanese Role Playing Game of the decade... Lost Odyssey.

With the exception of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 7, this is the only game where i have logged over 180 hours and love every minute of it. I don't understand why alot of people don't like it. it even came with 5 language dub options!

And Mirrors Edge was one of my favorite games last year. I had it for the xbox but traded that in and got the PC version just for the PhysX additions.

As for me I would have to go with Dragon Warrior Monsters, which, now that i look at it, got stunningly mediocre reviews.

Loved this game ^^ especially the original for gbc, the sequels were also fairly good as well.

Jet Grind Radio (DC) and Jet Set Radio Future (XBOX)- There is a certain weird-ness and obscure quality to these games, but one thing is for sure: They are both fun as well. Its a shame that we couldn't ever get another sequel in this series. =(

OMG THIS.
I only use my Xbox for that game.

I would probably have to say games like "Team Buddies, The Unholy War, The Legend of Dragoon, Future Cop, Beyond Good & Evil...." and reminded from the comment above "DW: Gundam 2" its repetative sure, but I do enjoy it I just wish they included some more Seed Characters (and Duo .-.).

EDIT: I'd also include "Hexyz Force" since I found out about it by accident, and I LOVE the game. It's probably one of my favourite unvoiced-RPG's if not my favourite (of course there are voices in Fights and Animated Cutscenes).

The Shining Force series. First TBS series I've ever played and remained my favorite until FFT came along. And while I'm on the subject of FFT, I'd say that game is also pretty underrated, though TBS games generally aren't that popular in general.

I've been meaning to play that game but the Dreamcast is practically nonexistent and I don't have any reason to get a Gamecube.

Lost Odyssey people called it a rip off and bad attempt of an rpg, when I enjoyed the game alot.

Final Fantasy Tactics, my friends didn't like the strategy gameplay that ff was doing but I highly had fun with it.

Easily one of the better JRPGs released on the new generation consoles.
I'm not sure about what's overrated or underrated so I'll go with that.
And not that I love it, but Alien vs Predator, that got so much crap and it was a generally enjoyable game.
