| Nanoha http://i45.tinypic.com/jg13b4.png I move to suggest that this be made her default image. The reason being that this is better quality than her current one (I fixed the image in several places, made it look nicer [increased the saturation a bit, sharpened it, et cetera]). In addition to that, I scaled the image down a bit more so it was more zoomed out. I did this because her current default, the other version of this image in her gallery, and many other of the recently uploaded ones to her page are far too zoomed in and don't give a good idea of her whole character, just the face area for the most part. Also, this picture gives off more of the personality and mindset of Nanoha herself (jubilant, vivid, and so on), rather than her current one which is too austere for her, per se. Finally, the border on the one I propose is a light blue-on-white border, which not only stands out a bit more and gives the image more of a definite edge, but it is more aesthetically pleasing instead of a plain black one which clashes with the rest of the image. Furthermore, I would like to request that these following images be put into her gallery for similar reasons above: better quality, better looking. Her other recently uploaded images have several problems, including but not limited too some blurriness, poor borders and, again, way too zoomed in. Your wall of text isnt nice, its like forcing me to choose yours implying thats its so damn obvious that your pics are better that i must be an idiot to not agree with you. Anyways i havent watched Nanoha so i dont know about her char or anything about her. IF ANY OTHER MOD wants to change it hes free to do so. I wont touch Nanoha again since i like this pic way more than the rest. So next time you make a pic request do like other people and just write name of char and the pic you want as default. Alright guys, I updated everything I thought I should of updated. @medlisage: Even though the pictures you requested to put up are pretty good, both Shana and Nia already had really great pictures uploaded, so there was no point. I did switch out some of them and put yours up but for future cases, it's probably not worth it in the end. Maybe if you could focus your efforts for characters in the database (god knows we have a ton) that don't have great pictures to begin with, that would be awesome. Regardless, thanks for the pictures everyone. :D |

| The current Nanoha image is perfectly fine image, I don't see the need to change it. I also added the Nono pic but I'm not making it the default because it doesn't represent what the series looks like. |
| I truly don't see the problem in this case. We have better picture of Nanoha, and we want it to be default. It's not our fault Nanoha has ton of stock images, and some other characters don't. To be honest, I almost always, do pictures only for those characters I know and I care about. I don't give a damn about some charas from boring old- school anime or such. |

| SnG theres absolutely no problem besides the one "you" (the users ) create. We cant satisfy everyone needs and its obvious that, what you consider best might not be the case for someone else. I had to spent 30 mins of my time (for the love of god i dont lie, i really did) cause i didnt knew what pic to set as default. In addition to that i started the anime too so i can get a better picture of her character and decide a better one. There are already 3 mod that like the current pic so just live with it. What regards the second part, yeah thats your choice. Brand didnt forced you to do other chars or something.He made a suggestion that could help the community in general. And hell none ever said its your fault. I dont get why you got mad. |

| lol. Don't get me wrong I am not mad. I am just annoyed that, even in previous thread, whenever I, or some other people, would do pictures for mainstream Anime characters, who already have good pictures, someone would say "There is ton of other characters with bad ones". With that, it's almost as they bash onto the time we spend in making those pictures. Yes, majority of them are just crop- resize- add border, but even trying to make them shows that I do want MAL to look better. And with that one little sentence "Leave mainstream alone, there are others", it's same as saying "Your pictures are not needed". At least, that is how I see it. |

| We're not trying to bash the time you spend making those pictures. MAL would not survive without its community to help complete and submit entries. However, please remember that we are not an image database here. The moderators that are seeing to your requests are anime and manga moderators that could be putting their time into adding entries or approving queue submissions to improve our databases to the extent of ANN or MU instead of debating over default pictures for a character that already has a perfectly good picture. When arguments and debates begin over pictures for mainstream characters, no one is helping to complete the database, users or moderators. However, when you improve or add pictures for non-mainstream characters, you are helping to complete the database. Character's don't need to have eight pictures. One good default is necessary, and possibly a few others is perfectly sufficient. By the time you get to eight pictures, they all start to look the same anyway. Can you see where we're coming from with this? We realise pictures are important to you and this is why we have made this thread and check on it regularly; however, please realise that we're using vast majorities of our time fiddling with images and arguing over them rather than contributing to the anime/manga databases, which are the two primary focuses of this site. As such, please don't request default changes for characters with perfectly good pictures. And please do not argue if a moderator sees there is a perfectly good picture and doesn't change it to your request. I really do not want the staff to have to repeat this every 2-3 pages of posts, so I hope everyone that posts in this thread has read the character guidelines. This is not directed specifically at you, SnG, but rather the previous 131 pages of complaints over pictures. Character Guidelines said: Thank you for your understanding.Default pictures: These images are chosen based on quality, which includes (but is not limited to): colouring, sharpness, contrast, brightness, positioning and size. | I agree. Character images aren't to be argued over. If your picture isn't approved for default or what not, move on I guess.
