..when it doesn't have any elements that would appeal the "Seinen" viewership?

Whether it has those elements or not is your opinion. If the magazine it was serialized in is a seinen then it is a seinen.

Because it was published in a seinen magazine.

Because the target audience is grown up males (just like most shows about cute girls).

A show doesn't have to t̶a̶l̶k̶ ̶a̶b̶o̶u̶t̶ focus on a realistic aspect of life or gory as heck to be considered a seinen. Sometimes it's maybe just a heart-warming, relaxing show to make peoples feels better (especially after a tough day and just want to have some inner peace)

From what i've seen, the overwhelming majority of moe crap is Seinen. I'm not Japanese, so take this with a grain of salt, but the work culture in Japan is generally pretty harsh from what i've heard, so a lot of adults probably enjoy these fluffy cutesy shows because it gives them a short little break amidst all the stress.

Yeah, there are some ytb videos talks about this along with some problems like "going against the crowd or standing out in situations will get you isolated from community(s), you will be discriminated if you are a half-breed living in japan". Living in japan must be an hellish experience...

This is funny fact, but most audiences of CGDCT & "moe" stuff are adults / man 😄

There's a famous enough joke for otaku in my country that said "real men watches K-ON!". Because that's the truth, "moe" stuff is a self happiness sources for those who exhausted after a long day stress.

I'm >25 yo male. When my homies in my age watching some normal stuff like action series, late night shows, or TikTok videos, i'm watching cute girls tales with a cup of coffee & cigars in my home.

(CGDCT that i've watched : Yama no Susume, Yuru Camp, Non-non Biyori, K-ON, KinMoza, etc...)
