Or maybe I just need to rewatch the series because the VN is screwing with my perspective.

All animes are predictable, there is no such thing as a "surprise ending", or "surprise plot twist".
Those who can't predict what will happen next in an anime aren't watching it, or rather, they're just watching it superificially. Which is quite understandable if you look at the general audience of anime watchers.

I've basically watched all mainstream anime, with some other signifcant ones. Mostly horror and psychological. Not to mention all the animes discussed in this thread. I've watched over 170+ titles in all. That should clearly explain why I haven't updated it yet.

If you've seen all of the anime discussed in this thread, that means you have seen Evangelion. I find it very hard to believe you thought that series was predictable. The same can be said for Furi Kuri, although I don't think that has been mentioned yet. You can't say you saw everything coming in Death Note, either. That series had surprises left, right and center and was bound to catch the viewer out at least once. Troll much?

Death Note and Evangelion spoilers

If you weren't spot on with Furi Kuri then why state that anime is predictable in the first place, when it clearly isn't considering how you yourself found it hard to follow.

My brain stopped working for a few seconds XD, i was looking in one spot. It was like the time itself stopped. I couldn't believe that thing happened. It was so good. Right? He was just someone you'd never expect to do anything even remotely similar to what he did o.O But I have to say, he was my favourite policeman right from the start, so I was glad they gave him a scene that good x3
