| Their "Broadcast Dub" thing is interesting. The first I've heard of it :o I see a lot of people complaining about Chuutarou's VA but I actually prefer her to the Japanese VA. He sounds quite awkward in Japanese even though I normally like his Japanese VA. I don't think Shirasu's VA suits his character well though, he sounds kind of too rough for him? Can't quite put my finger on it. I'm neutral to Tenka and Soramaru's VAs, while I'm too used to their Japanese VAs to appreciate them properly I think they suit the characters well enough. Though their awful pronunciation of Soramu's name is bugging me. The VAs as a whole are fine, though I feel at times they're kind of robotic and flat, especially the minor/background characters. Script seems to be fine and not straying far from the original. So the use of "Tenny" here is why Funimation keeps insisting on using it in their subs lol. While it suits the dub well I really wish they'd stop doing that in the subs. Overall not a bad dub nor a put off, so I'll keep watching it. Looking forward to the Yamainu's VAs. |
