| Tatami Galaxy (11 episodes. Unique artstyle, "episodic" storytelling, it's set in college). FLCL (6 episodes. Completely crazy and random; fantastic animation). Kino's Journey (13 episodes. each episode presents a unique country for Kino to explore. A bit complex and philosophical). Welcome to the NHK (24 episodes. A realistic depiction of a shut-in's life. It manages to stay light-hearted despite its dark themes). Redline (movie. the best animation you will ever see; the rest is secondary). |

| Been a long time since i've been on the forums....good to be back lol. Anyway, so unque feeling anime. You have several on your PTW Akira-Benchmark anime, really owe it to yourself to eperience this masterpiece Ben-to-Someone mentioned this earlier. It's got thestupidest idea for a show, but its entertaining and i give them props for trying something different. Cowboy Bebop- Another benchmark anime. Theres really nothing else like Bebop. FLCL-short, weird, awesome. It's quite fantastic and funny. Mawaru Penguindrum- This one is odd. It's got drama, some comedy, great symbolism, and of course...penguins. Nekojirou-sou (or Catsoup in english)- This short entry is truly unique. Fantastic imagery, bizzare happenings and no dialogue, one of my personal favorites. You won't be dissapointed. Welcome to the NHK!- I'm not as big a fan of this one as most other people are, but its got great characters and explores human relations and the hikkikamori better than anything else i've seen. Paprika- Movie from the great Satoshi Kon. surreal, psycological and a fantastic story. Truley excellent. Shinsekai Yori- a deep and thoughtprovoking series. Awesome music, characters, plot....it really does everything superb. It is quite slow though. Some i don't see on your list Humanity has Declined- Others have mentioned this awesome series and it deserves more attention. Complete satire of human society in general and one of the best female MC's i've ever seen. Quite nothing else like it. Nichijou-comedy slice of life thats just absolutely ridiculous. theres robots, super saiyan moments, deer wrestling, a talking cat, and tons of other stuff. Dead Leaves- just non stop, way over the top action. Unique artstyle and, its just plain weird. plus its only like an hour long. So hopefully you find someting there. Also you probably won't listen to me since you dropped it at ep 4 but i highly reccomend finishing Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica. It's just so good and the first few episodes are definetly the weakest part of the whole show. Well hope i was of some help |
