Due to updates to greasemonkey the script has had to be updated. Get the updated (working) version here:
http://irc.tmj.im/images/IgnoreMALUser.user.js

Thanks to those whom reported the issue.

i've installed it again because sanity reasons, and yeah the bug is still present. i'm using the 64bit build of chrome on windows.

i'm not even sure if asandari still uses mal. i wonder how we could get the bug fixed... oh well, for now after i make a quick reply i just right click and select 'reload.' it's kinda the same as just pressing the 'see new replies button'.

Same, tried to go without it for a couple of hours couldn't. Refershing was only annoying at first but I got used to it, I do hope there is a fix nonetheless.

It's mostly likely have to do with Chrome version and the windows 86x (64bit). Because my old laptop was 32bit and with an older version of chrome.

For now I have the thread as watched, he is not that active but he logins from time to time.

Though you can contact me on IRC at any time. I'll look into it. Does it only happen in chrome?
Edit: I suppose so, posted from firefox and saw no issue.
Edit #2: Bug reproduced. Will fix asap. Thanks for the heads up.
Edit #3: Bug fixed. Appears to have been a conflict with jQuery. I haven't extensively tested the extension so please let me know on IRC if there are any new bugs.

You can get the new version here:

I know of at least someone who's having a similar problem but I'm not able to block someone who doesn't have an avatar, it will go away with a refresh. And judging by what someone else said, when someone got rid of their avatar after having been ignored with the script earlier, it stopped ignoring them.

Using firefox

It was a bug with greasemonkey. Workaround applied.
Get it here:

And now that firefox 36 is out they decided to patch that workaround. And then they escalated the severity. This is what I get for not using dev versions.

People interested in the fully functioning script in firefox will have to wait for greasemonkey 2.4 to come out. For now, use this hobbled script: http://irc.tmj.im/images/IgnoreMALUserFF.user.js (Version 1.0.2.5).

If you are not on firefox, do not install the FF version. It removes features.

Just so you know: Maxthon's Greasemonkey plug-in is identical to the Firefox one.

I installed it with Tampermonkey on Google Chrome but I don't see the ignore user option.

Update available to fix issues with MAL html changes.
http://irc.tmj.im/images/IgnoreMALUser.user.js (v.1.0.4)
Firefox only: http://irc.tmj.im/images/IgnoreMALUserFF.user.js (v.1.0.2.6)

You could probably even try 1.0.4 on firefox if you have an up to date greasemonkey and see if it works. I'd need to restart my browser to test... I hate restarting my browser.

Thanks MangaKing for letting me know.

The bug should only happen if the browser also made the same change that firefox made when they broke greasemonkey. No idea though, I only test in firefox (because of lazy, not elitism).

Edit: If you grabbed the script in the last 15 minutes, may want to update again. No version bump, just had to get it working for the new extra long forum pages.

It's broken, isn't it?

There is a forum feature for this now, but if you prefer it the old way here is the patch against 1.0.4:
