The older version of break blade anime is made in 2010 (not too old), and it's decently ranked here on MAL so I assume it is fairly well-received. Why is Production IG remaking the same part of the story again (I assume it is a remake seeing from info given on MAL)?

Was Break Blade Movies so successful when it aired that it deserved a remake from the original anime creators?

I am quite baffled at the economic incentives here.

They didn't quite follow the story from the manga.

The 6-part original movies also left a lot of loose ends upon the end of the last movie. There was an implied "happy ending" (notice the flower from the OP theme and the flower in the ED theme after movie 6) but much was left to the viewers' imaginations.

I didn't know they were redoing this, I am really excited.

Break Blade was the first mecha that I absolutely loved, just because the technical concept was so fresh.

For me the ending was open ended. I enjoyed the series. Pretty underrated. God, those mechas looked eyegasmic!

There were a lot of differences from the movies and original manga, more noticeably as time went on.

It seems to me that the new TV series will be more faithful to the manga.

Yeah, there definitely was quite a few differences.

Though I saw the PV, and the 12 episode status, it may continue from the original anime. Hopefully it's two cours and that it restarts it with the intention of being more faithful, but it doesn't seem certain at the moment.
...Or maybe it's a re-released televised formatted version.. I'm confused as well now.

Can someone who hasn't watched the movies be able to watch this and understand what is happening?

Do you think everything will be explained in 12 episodes or will it be really chopped up?

I don't think that level of information is available to us.

12 eps of 25 mins is about the same runtime as the films, so it should be ok.

That's right. My exact same thought.

I felt like I've been cheated, literally.

Wait, isn't the manga still ongoing? Or has it ended already so the story is now complete?

The fact that it's a remake is good for me since I didn't watch the movies.

I wonder if they have further plans for Break Blade now that they have a TV series of the OVAs. Season 2 in the future?

As long as the show ends better than the movies, I'm good.

i havent read the manga but i watched the movies i still cant decide if i should watch the tv series. My guess is that some scenes were added or more after the manga. But i watch so many series at the time that i dont want to spend currently time on a series that is similiar. At a far later point maybe but currently its not on my to do watchlist since i am marathoning last season and also watch this season animes as well.

instead a sequel, they give us a remake (TV version). I think I will skip the first six episodes and hoping there will be a different story in the next six episodes. And of course, I want them wrap the story with a closed ending, either in this 12 episodes or in a sequel.

I hope they don't follow the anime only ending in the OVAs and decide to continue the series. I would definitely watch it then.

What chapter on the manga do we start after the 12th episode of the TV series?
