| I can't be the only person who thinks all of the hints they gave about previous wishes for another person's benefit and the difference between saving that person and be thanked for saving that person are squarely directed at Homura's wish and madoka.... I really don't think she wanted to stop madoka from becoming a magic girl because she was jealous or didn't want competition. Every sign seems to point to her doing what she does and acting like a bad guy in order to protect Madoka (by driving her away from her and the world she lives in). |

Mami's death, who was finally able to meet companions thanks to Kyubey's wish and obviously was extremely happy because of Madoka's words until the moment she died, is pretty much according to the contract... Just assuming this is true, than whoever wishes for Mami's ressurection will probably die when the reuinite lol. |
| Before ep 3 I tough that her family would be the one killed, not Mami but giving the setting that work just fine. They already knew how dangerous these battle was but it made Madoka understand that if she is going to risk her life then she should make full use of her wish unlike her mindset before Mami died where she would have used it for a cake. Now she'll probably use her wish to revive Mami and the blue haired girl will use her wish for the guy she love. |

| I normally don't post on here. If Madoka doesn't wish for Mami's return, barring something horrible happening to her family, I will lose a lot of respect for the character. And why have the set up of one wish that can be anything, then a character death if not to use that? Everything about wishes in this episode was about making a wish for someone else. Sayaka for the boy Madoka just to help people Madoka for a cake for everyone It stands to logic by the characters that Madoka will use her wish for someone else. |

| I really don't think Madoka's going to wish for Mami to come back, considering Mami spent the episode pretty much telling them to carefully think about their wish, ad that if they're gonna wish on behalf of another,to be DEATHLY specific, otherwise they will regret it. |

| Aw man. The hottest girl in this anime just got her head bitten off. :( I wanted to see more of her badass musket firing action. At this point though, I wouldn't want her to be resurrected as it would just ruin the feeling of missing her. But if Mami hadn't die, she might end up stealing most of the action from the girl on the whose name's on title. I mean it's ep 3 already and Madoka still hasn't become a Mahou Shoujo yet? |

| This is shocking! I mean I think everything around me stopped when she died O_O I even got goosebumps. Like I kinda knew she was going to die because of the first episode like when they showed Homura getting beat up in the future. Mami wasn't there so I wondered. How come Mami wasnt fighting with Homura in the future? I came to the conclusion that she would die. But WTF not this fast!? I do believe that she will be brought to life I mean... yet I don't... man it's so confusing! I think I need to rewatch this pay more attention to what Mami says about her wish. I would also think they wouldn't emphasize her as much in the intro if she would be killed off that quick? Even when the three of them are dressed up in their magical outfits, I mean who would do that if she would just die and not come back? They have to choose between the guy Miki likes, Madoka's mom or Mami. That's what i think. Kyubey is so heartless! He knew it all along! | I didn't expect they'd kill off Mami so quickly. Poor girl got beheaded by a freaking jack-in-a-box! ;_; Great visuals once again. Really creepy dimensions they create in this series. I also thinks Kyubei is hiding something. He keeps on pushing them to make a contract, so there must be something for him to get out of it. He also said Madoka had one of the biggest gems he had ever seen. Anyways, very anticipating. Looking forward to the next one. |

| Tbh , I was sure Mami would die in this episode . Call it premonition , call it instinct , I just knew she would . I thought that would make the biggest impact after getting so close and especially after Mami got so happy that she wasn't alone . When she got happy I was 100% something bad would happen and it did ! My anime instincts never fail me /o/ Though it was kinda sad but since I knew it was coming , it didn't affect me much =/ |

| If Madoka wishes for Mamis revival it will prolly end up in a horrible outcome. Either she returns as something dark like a witch and gets her ass beaten by one of the girls or someone else has to die for her. In Goethes Faust homunculi are made out of special lifeblood, i quess someone has to provide that. :D |

Fullmetal Alchemist proved that you can't bring back the dead without consequences, let's see how it plays out in this show. Really loving this show's dark atmosphere hidden under the deceivingly cute and fluffy packaging. |
| I predict that Madoka wishes Mami back, but remember what Mami said to Sayaka. If you make a wish that is supposed to make someone else happy, make damn sure you word it properly or the wish might not turn out the way you want. So my guess is Madoka is naive and just says she wishes for Mami to come back to life, and Kyubey grants it, but Mami comes back as a witch or just not as herself any more in some way or another. But yeah, uh, I'm shaken. I already knew that this wasn't going to be Nanoha style mahou shoujo, but apparently my body was not prepared. My poor, dear, sweet Miyako. Err, Mami. Miyako lives on! |

| whoa, that was intense. This seals it, it's NOT something kids should watch. Show this to your little ones and you'll have stained bedsheets in the morning. I knew mami was in for a beating, but after watching nanoha, I thought "beating" meant "having to rest a few days in hospital". Now, with mami's head nomnom'ed off, there's only 3 things that could happen: 1) worst case Madoka wishes her back and all is fine and dandy again. Would feel too much like DBZ where the portal between this world and the afterlife has revolving doors. Would devastate my opinion of this anime. 2) good1 Madoka wishes her back, but something goes wrong, showing that wishes should neverever be spoken out loud without serious thought and saying it the right way. Djinni and the likes have a tendency to creatively misunderstand wishes if possible. 3) good2 she stays gone. As much as I like Mami and her badass muskets, this would emphasis the fact that "dead is dead is dead" |

| Wow, Mami's death was totally unexpected. It is the first time that I see the death of a magical girl in a mahou-shoujo. Nanoha too, had dark themes, not this kind of death. But like others think, I believe she will be resurrected. However, I hope she will return as a witch or something... I'd like to see her in a psycho mode. |

Theres plenty of evidence to support she died. 1. after the ribbon of her holding Homura in place dissolved you see her body wriggle then fall from the monsters mouth and for a split second you see her headless body fall. thats pretty dead to me. 2. Once the monster was killed by Homura a broken teacup with blood coming out of it was shown. Im pretty sure that was an analogy of her body. 3. when they left the maze of the witch Mami wasn't with them. So why do you think shes not dead? If you give a good reason though that would be cool cause I kinda liked Mami kinda didn't. |

| Awesome. Kyubey is really creepy sly bitch. It's rather obvious that he set up the witch there and got Mami killed (?) but i was pretty sure at least Madoka would become Puella Magi in this episode, that was only at first though. I also hope for some plot twists, since the story seems predictable, too predictable for Gen's work, so i'm actually pretty sure we'll get some plot twist to prove it's not as simple as that. As for Mami, i'd i agree with seishi-sama. If you ask why then the reasons he mentioned are more than enough for me, meaning: seishi-sama said: Well...there's numerous reasons actually, starting from most obvious and ending with less obvious. Anyway, awesome episode is awesome. Love ths show as for now. Oh and if someone will tell me that Nanoha is better than this after this episode them i'm so going to watch it. |

I did watch until the very end, but there are plenty of explanations for hearing her speaking that make more sense to me than her surviving having her head bitten off. I'll give you your second point, especially keeping in mind the conversation about being careful what you wish for and how it's worded, but as for the third, I don't think it's staged; or at least, Mami wasn't involved in planning it. She seemed genuinely shocked by what was going on, and maybe it's just because I like her, but I don't think she's intentionally doing anything evil. It seems to me that she trusts Kyubei's choices and does as he says, but doesn't realise any more sinister intentions he might have. |
