I'm so hyped for the gintama movie, it was extremely well received so i dont doubt it will sell. Especially considering they are releasing BD's of it, didnt the TV series even into gintama' and enchousen stay on dvd's only

I think this is the first Gintama ever to see BD, yes. Someone else can confirm, maybe there was another movie or special or something but I only ever remember seeing DVDs.

Based on Stalker predictions, it should be roughly evenly split between the two formats. Not 50/50 but maybe 60/40 in favor of DVD? Assuming B&M sales are going to be skewed a bit more towards DVD than Amazon would be.

So that means that if all of the Gintama series were to have BD releases, it would have crazier sales? :o

I also have a question, is it true that the Gintama series' anime has come to an end? Is it true that Sunrise stopped animating Gintama after the movie?

Will we ever see a new Gintama anime again? At least once there is enough material?

I dunno, I don't watch it. But doesn't this show joke about "ending" all the time and then keep coming back? So who knows!

Yah, this is the same show thats been in its "final chapter" since around ep 125ish, as well as had an entire episode dedicated to skipping hundreds of chapters to the ending of the manga

I feel pretty confident that the anime will start up again, especially considering enchousen and gintama' were selling near the 10K per volume line as well as this movie already doing good in theaters, the money from dvd's/blu rays is probably just the icing on the cake

I've been wanting to ask. Why aren't Hajime no Ippo Rising and Phi Brain s3 up for preorders? Is there something special for these shows or are they the same as Daiya no Ace? Or is it simply because they haven't been up for preorders yet? Or maybe a different reason I don't know of.

NNB really has a good finishing kick! And it is kicking my buyers choose early theory, this is quite a late surge. I enjoyed the last episode but I'm still finding it interesting that so many choose to wait so long to order it. Not complaining, just observing! Hope it stays up there for the next week until release... and Beyond! (Yes, I just watching Sillyrai Flamencawhat?).

Ippo actually just got put up a couple hours ago (DVD Box Part 1 / BD Box Part 1). Likely took so long because it's being released in sets. I've added it to the Fall list now.

Phi Brain, no idea, I'd assume either boxsets or rental only since they know it's not going to sell any discs.

Is Phi Brain heavily subsidized by NHK or something? Because otherwise I don't get why Sunrise would make another season of it if they don't expect it to sell well...

I don't really have much of an opinion about NNB BUT I would like to see something defy the "buyers choose early theory" not necessarily because I think you're wrong, but because it gives me hope that just because some series don't start of selling fast they may yet have hope...

I'm surprised Kill la Kill didn't get much of a bump (yet?) from episode 12 as it was really, really well done and shows how awesome it can really be. Perhaps later today.

Ugly day for NagiAsu. Barely charting on pre-release day.

Just gotta get those Non Non v1 DVD sales... but like Kinmosa, I fear we'll be cheated out of ~700+ DVDs due to high thresholds.

Okay, details details, but that's STILL A VICTORY lol. It suggests that some people still buy discs later, which is what I want to see so that I can still hold out hope for shows beyond the first few episodes (i.e. people who may buy are still watching).

Are the DVD thresholds on Christmas really that bad?

What was the threshold last year? If its below 1k, I think NNB has a small chance of ranking.

It seems Meganebu! vol.1 doesn't rank, I wonder if it's going to be underestimated though.

Buying it at Animega gives invitation to an event which is going to be held later today and I think Animega doesn't report its sales to Oricon.
