Yes. I forgot the doctor's name, but she stuck a swab down my penis. If that isn't cruel, I don't know what is. I found it hard to pee for the whole day.

I'd love to have someone stick a swab down my penis hole.

They aren't sadists. It's an automatic response humans have to laugh at something horrible. It's reassurance that it wont happen to themselves.
As a child, I was told that society is a melting pot of talents; knowledge and experience combined to form important alloys that will contribute to mankind. When I got to highschool, however, I thought that it's more like a river in which the water represents our peers while we ourselves are the stones in the river. Constant erosion by mindless majority sheeping has made us lose our unique edge. After I hit the age of 18, I realized that I've been wrong all along. Society is no melting pot. Society is no river. Society is a person, a very skilled rapist, and he has fucked us all.

That has limits, laughing at what could be a serious crash is over it. I'd like to assure myself that I'm not going to get mugged and stabbed on the street, but I most definitely wouldn't laugh at the news of another person having it done to them.

It's not the horrible thing itself which people laugh at, it's usually how it happened which is amusing.

Still, I wouldn't call them sadists; "fucktards" maybe, but not sadists.

I wouldn't give a shit if I met one.
No, actually, I'd probably be rather interested in their psychological profile.
But they won't cause me any pain because quite frankly, I'm much stronger than the general person, more-so weak minded people who choose the wrong paths.

i think the thing is not that they are cruel or sadist people. according to my observations, a lot of people's behavior changes when they are behind the wheel.

if those 3 were just walking by instead there's a lower chance that they will laugh at your plight.

Try to see the news and stop being so naive, people are horrible that's a fact.
For example, what do you call people pissing on afghanistan dead bodies? what do you call people putting a chain on afghanistani and removing their clothes and treating them like dogs? what do you call people worldwide laughing while watching them die in the news? And that's just an example, there are countless of them. I remember one article here, about some google contractor deleting youtube videos and google images. Everyday he's deleting sex, child abuse, necrophilia, beheading, torture, gore, diapers porn. I'm pretty sure there were even people who laughed while reading what happened to you, that's just how people are and will always be.
I'm not a misanthrope, I'm a realist.

So earlier today, me, my mom, and my sister got in a car accident. My sister was unhurt although my Mom had to go to the hospital (thankfully, no serious injuries) It was one of the most shocking and traumatic moments of my life. Turns out, a teenager was speeding at 50 MPH. But she was very remorseful and was crying and turned out to be a nice person. But then three people drove by. Each one of them rolled down their windows and laughed. They laughed. I was pretty confused at what they were laughing at but I eventually realized that they were laughing at us. They laughed and drove off. They saw my Mother on a rolling bed being put into the ambulance car but they didn't care. As long as it wasn't them.

There were even cops on the sidelines but they didn't say anything to those people who laughed.

The city I live in (i thought) to be a very calm and pleasant place, but obviously there are cruel people everywhere. You guys ever experienced anything like this?

Ahhhhh noo, those were not sadists (you need to know the origin of the word). Nor were they cruel individuals as they didn't CAUSE the accident.

We call people in the above example FUCKING ASSHOLES.
While not technically anime, currently I am a big fan of Hatsune Miku.
At least I can go see her in concert.

Judging by your facebook profile (which you've linked to your MAL account for some reason), you don't appear very capable. Physically or mentally.

I lol'd, but Lesley has a point - you can't really call them sadists or cruel since they themselves didn't cause the damage. General schadenfreude is the only term I can apply to their behaviour. But I agree, they are fucking arseholes.

Eh, What are you talking about?
How did you come to this conclusion?
And how is this relavant to this thread?
Okay, Physical capability. If you are referring to a lack of fitness I have started going to the gym three times a week and that picture was from a while ago. Physical capability can easily be trained, mental capability can't be improved significantly.
As for mental capability I would assume you are referring to my statuses?
My statuses on Facebook aren't exactly my pride and joy. I don't really care much because most people on Facebook don't have the mental capacity to understand the full extent of my thoughts.
You can judge me however you want but try to be more clear in your prejudices... before I lay your soul to waste. Har-har-har!

Yes, but a normal person would not roll down their windows just to laugh at a person in a bad car accident. You have to wonder if they're actually normal people IRL.

Hell.

About the OP , as it as been said before, that kind of person are called assholes but not sadists : they did not cause the accident in any way.
I never laughed directly at an accident but sometimes it happend to me when friends told me some stories or when I was watching some videos. I've often been called a psychopath for laughing or joking about that kind of things. It's just that while i'm not concerned, or nor my relatives or friends , I don't really care.

You should also consider that some people externalize their feelings through laughs when some cry or yell. Maybe those people found the situation difficult so they decided to act the easiest way possible.

So if you were passing by and you saw a big accident, would you roll down the window, look at the scene and laugh as fake and loud as you can?

You mean like this ? :

I happened to pass by some accidents, serious or not, but I didn't laugh as you describe. I just think and accept that some people can likely act this way, especially if they're stupids. But I don't judge them as sadists or cruel.

I mean , if I walk near an accident scene and see some people laughing around , I won't mind.

That's quite difficult to argue here because the story is really irrealistic. About the cops part especially.

Yes, EXACTLY like that.
Yes, the cops didn't do shit. They just ignored those people that were laughing really loudly. They didn't even tell those people to shut up, so that upset me too.

Just sounds like a few clowns trying to look cool and tough in front of their friends.

Anyways not every 'sadist' is a bad person, they're many different types ranging from axe murderers to people in fairly healthy S&M relationships who care for one another and the people around them. I just bring that up because it's a term that seems to always bring about negative connotations by people who simply don't understand being a sadist can mean very different things and isn't even always a bad thing.

My stance is similar to LayedBack.

What I can infer from the information you provide was people in a crowd, especially with their close friends, tend to act like jackass. Peer pressure plays a part. It also elevates their social standing within the clique because to them these are desirable qualities. Comparatively, the person who helped and felt remorseful was alone by herself. Obviously, there's plenty other reasons for this behaviour, like a certain Japanese saying goes, 'little people ( mostly refers to those without goals and direction in life ) does injustice in times of seclusion'. To some extent, these people are merely surviving in a manner they only know.

They are certainly normal people.

For all you know, the ones that you had associate with the term 'normal' may act in that matter because society's pressure or other incentives. I won't be surprised if the 3 guys would offered their help under the heavy scrutiny of the society.

People nowadays are cold hearted, mainly in big cities.

They could have been stoned or drunk or they were just really cruel.

There's always the fact that one(two or all of them) of these 3 could be acting to look tough to his friends

In China, not so long ago, there were people, including a mother, seeing a 2-year-old girl seriously injured on the road, simply passed by without calling for help.

The parents got wide support in China, and people are willing to donate money to help them but, the parents' account got hacked...
