Can really see the character development now, Ruri really has come a long way. She may not say she wants to become a researcher, but she's certainly on the path to doing so.
After watching this show so far, it is really making me wanna go outside and research rocks myself, it is so weird. Never thought I'd feel the urge to.

| @whitebeartigtig That's why I love shows like this. It can inspire many young people to go on an adventure and explore something new. Don't know if I'll go checking hills and cliffs like they did this epusode, but I'll certainly be checking rivers near my village next summer. Haven't done it before and am curious what I'll find! |
Doctoral studies are graduate… grad school is master’s and PhD. People rarely get master’s in stem fields like mineralogy so common sense would just lead you to assume it’s a PhD. Master’s students don’t travel internationally for conferences either(usually) Incorrect. Most universities would designate Nagi as a Master's of Geological Science, and similarly, Master's Students can and do travel for overseas conferences (example). There actually is no direct evidence Nagi is a PhD student beyond this individual's assumptions, and I would advise people to regard marinate's remarks with caution: PhD in political science or not, credential-waving (whether the credentials are real or not) isn't particularly helpful or relevant here. Whether or not Nagi is a MSc or PhD is ultimately immaterial, having very little impact on the way Ruri no Houseki progresses. |
| Probably the best episode of the show. This almost felt like a finale. It's got it all: scientific process and problem solving, mineralogy lessons, hard work out on the field, personal meaning and growth for the main character, shockingly-beautiful art. The science aspect was especially impressive; it was almost too difficult to follow, and it was cool seeing Ruri (of all people) lock in and grapple with this mystery. Still don't like Ruri that much (or any of the characters), but it's plain to see the episode was firing on all cylinders. |
| So they gave us Maid Nagi because she would be gone for 2 eps.. Huh, I thought it would be obvious for Ruri to pick geology with how much she cares about gems. Good to see she figured that out too! There are only 2 eps left.. gods I will miss this show so much! |
