New E-soul YC is back. He's truly become a dog for MG and Uncle Rocks. He's fighting Ghostblade and the Johnnies. Lets hope he gets his ass beat.

Also you know we just got new ship with Loli and NuoNuo...and now E-soul appears...the memes really have become reality. Next he's going after Cyan? No happy endings when E-soul is around.

Still anyways I wasn't expecting that kiss Nuonuo nice surprise attack.

Nice! is back but uh he's trying to kill everyone too. He's fighting Loli I guess. Lets see how much stronger her suit is now that it is strengthened with super glue.

Long time no see Nice.. Him returning as a villain was not on my 2025 bingo card tho. As someone else mentioned, it would have been epic if the animation changed to the original CGI with his appearance

A lot of people debating if this is New E-Soul and Nice or OG.

Sounds like it's New E-Soul as its the New E-Soul voice.

However, with Nice its uncertain, but I think since New Nice was dealing with combating Fear in a few of his fights, I think this is OG Nice as in the timeline fear is still new and is only just now starting to be an issue.

Good thing Ghostblade understood he got set up before taking out Little Johny, eventhough he did nearly assasinated him. Lets see if he actually understood what is going on or hes just prioritizing E-Soul. E-Soul on the other hand, damn bro is not good. Became Uncle Rock's unconditional puppy. What missing Lucky Cyan's concert does to a mf.

Knowing the first arc both Nice and E-Soul should survive. And if I recall correctly there was a legion of fear formed so the expedition must've failed? Shit's gonna go down hard

It can't be old E-soul. Yang Cheng killed him at the same time as Lucky Cyan's first concert in year 36 AC, the secret mission is in 39 AC.

@pixelante Besides what the person above me said (I literally linked the timeline for you to check it yourself lol), original E-Soul's arm was gone waaaaaaaay back, when he saved Yang Cheng twenty years ago. He probably lost it in a fight against Zero.

The armor used in Episode 19 is exactly the same armor Yang Cheng uses at the very end of his story arc. His voice is the voice of Yang Cheng, not the old E-Soul. I see no reason to believe this is old E-Soul, unless we assume he possessed Yang Cheng's body at the last moment in their fight, but there's been no solid proof for this theory either.

There's also one more thing that needs to be said. The og E-soul wasn't in Rock's corporation. But we saw the new E-soul talking to Rock at the end of the arc. So, Rock giving him a mission pretty much confirms that it's the new E-soul.

Going in, I was expecting Ghost Blade to have been assigned to assassinate Loli's father, so it was an interesting twist when he started hunting down Johnny. It's interesting that both E-Soul and Nice showed up on the scene at the same time, though I don't think they're working together since they're from different agencies. All of the execs just coincidentally decided to send in their fixers to clean up loose ends at the same time.

@ramenyst This is long before his suicide. The way the show is set up the timeliness is a bit funky. The first four episodes of the show actually happen after all the other episodes. Everything kinda happened backwards for the first 11 episodes until we got to where we are now and now we are going forward again but still not caught up to the beginning.

I had suspected all along that the Hero Association is actually the Villain in the world of To Be Hero X.
Especially Uncle Rock (the long-haired middle-aged man who appeared in the E-Soul episode). He is extremely greedy, cunning, and manipulative. In this episode, it is revealed that the one who ordered Ghostblade to kill Ah Sheng (Little Johnny’s father) was Uncle Rock.

After that, in episode 19, he gives Ghostblade another mission — to kill Little Johnny. Then, Uncle Rock manipulates the new E-Soul by saying that Ghostblade might know the motive behind the mission to kill Ah Sheng and would betray them. From that story, he orders the new E-Soul to kill Ghostblade. This naïve new E-Soul agrees, thinking it would reduce his competitors in the Hero Tournament.

At the end, Nice appears, who is also given the mission to kill everyone involved in the spaceship research.

It seems that the Nice appearing here is the original Nice (the one who committed suicide in episode 1). This means the timeline of this episode takes place before the appearance of Lin Ling in episode 1.

Some more father and daughter moments from Ghostblade and Nuonuo.

Wow yuri between Loli and Nuonuo. Literally saw it coming.

Rock really evil asl using Ghostblade, E-Soul like that. Even Nice's actions are questionable.

Thank lord this arc is over. Lil Johnny was annoying asl.

Ig the tower arc is next and ends next ep as well.

I love this show more and more, it's a shame that many people haven't understood that this series isn't centered on a single protagonist but tells the story of several heroes,I love how all the events are coming together and I'm too hyped for the next one

I can say that hands down this is one of the best anime of this year, once finished I will have to do a rewatch to better understand the events in order chronological, this is the kind of series you have to follow carefully to understand everything, luckily I love series that take their time

The final Johnny's episode stuffed with big surprises. Starting with bait and switch - Johnny's dramatic run in the forest ends with him passing out. Later, he wakes up in a tent and learns about "fear tainted" DJ Shindig. After few personal conversations with nagging Loli's nerd father, exploration team reaches alien crash site. This is where big reveal happens: Obviously villainous "Uncle Rock" assigned Ghostblade to kill not only Sheng(Johnnys dad), but Johnny too. Knowing Ghostblade might have change of heart, he sends E-Soul to get rid of both. Hero Nice was also there. Episode ends on heated skirmish that won't end well. So unwell - it will make Nice jump off the rooftop. Story gets more exciting with each dot connected, slowly revealing bigger picture. Can't wait to find out how this crash site scuffle ends.

Episode was great, I'm really liking the story so far. Each character arc is worth empathizing with. However, I feel like the animation has really peaked in quality around the Nice-E-Soul arcs, and we haven't quite gotten a heavy hitter like episode 3 or episode 5/7 since then. And I don't want to be a cunt, but I feel like it kind of lost its soul? The animation blend was what made it unique, and the current level of animation isn't really matching that of those episodes. Then again, this is not just X here; most shows are like this, but I just am sad because I saw it at its apex and really want more of that 10/10 amazing shit.
