The reason for this six month break is to keep this pace and not be needing a worse pace
| @ido4224 That makes no sense. They were already adapting one chapter per episode with occasional break weeks via recap episodes before the six month break. And that's exactly what they're still doing now. There's been no change. Even the occasional better animated sequences were a thing before the break. The only thing it granted them was more space out from Oda but with the same exact format that's not really all that useful unless he suddenly needs another eye surgery or something like that. |

If you look at the larger picture, the anime goes faster than the manga cause Oda takes a week break every 3-4 chapters and the anime does a recap episode every 5-6 episode. That means that in the long run, the anime would catch up even if it adapts one chapter per episode. The whole point of that break was the make the gap larger for Oda and to make sure they can continue in this pace and not make it worse, and not to make the pace better like the majority of the fan base thought

| Another great episode. Sanji's Lady-dar was something else lmao. So Bluegrass has the Ride-Ride fruit, that lets her control anything she rides... the thoughts write themselves. What is Stussy up to that Edison and Nami understood? The greatness with Luffy, Kizaru, Zoro and Lucci continues. Meanwhile... something ominous is happening A FKING FIVE ELDER MEMBER IS HERE AND HES A TERRIFYING UNEARTHLY MONSTER The transformation sequence he got was so extra, just enough for someone of his scale. Saturn even has this ribbon thing going around him just like Luffy. WOW. One Piece really is coming to an end if we're seeing a Five Elder FIGHT. The people who are underranked aren't even allowed to see him. The goosebumps I got while Saturn looked at Luffy and remembered Nika. But RIP Luffy now. Bonney seems to be remembering everything she witnessed in the Kuma memory sphere. The huge tears and the huge trauma that she is going through is so heartbreaking. |

| Feels like I was watching a movie, Spectacularly engaging despite me being a manga reader. Anime onlies probably losing their minds with this episode. It was unreal to actually see the Demonic pentagram, We've finally reached this point, Oh boi. |

| Aaaaand I've finally reached back to the last episode I bothered to watch ahead to see if there'd be any pacing improvements after the 6 month break, IE no more recap episodes. And as we all know by now that turned out not to be the case what with a recap after this episode and I believe I saw there's one coming next week in real-time as well. It's unfortunate, but the reasons and all that have already been discussed to death so I'll refrain from anymore complaining about it. I will say the Saturn touchdown scene was animated rather well, as was Luffy's final blow on Kizaru. The animation since the return has shown flashes of brilliance no doubt about it. And the best moments of the arc are yet to come...eventually.... |
