Well that was an okay ending, was hoping for more development for Alina like she kind of got with her feelings for Jade. A step in the right direction kind of thing you know. She slowly and surely starts liking Jade. I was hoping the same for her shitty job but instead of liking decides on quitting. I get overtime is the gimmick of this show but she really hates her fucking job. All you do is complain about it. I get it though government benefits are the best benefits you can ever receive. The gimmick gets really old despite them not even focusing on the overtime every episode. Trust me if you hate your job this much its not worth keeping around. Have her job hunt for God's sake.

I also thought that they'd keep her executioner job more of a secret but they really flub with that concept. Like in the middle of the plaza this receptionist whips out a giant fucking hammer and only like two people notice it and it doesn't spread as a rumor. Screw competent writing I guess. All you had to have her do was change her outfit behind a building or something. It's not that hard.

Despite my previous complaints I did like this show. It's somewhat competent and I always appreciate that the MC isn't the focus of every second of the show. It shows the world's way bigger than just her. I also like that she clearly lacks combat experience and has virtually no strategy. It makes sense she's not a trained warrior. Its a good way to make Jade and the Silver Sword shine. Jade and Alina's relationship is cute for the most part. Especially when he pushes her buttons just right so she ends up all sweet before going back to her ice queen facade. The big bad villain and monsters of the show present a real threat and the battle between good and evil feels like a challenge. 6/10 I'd maybe watch a second season.

Alina never changed throughout the entire anime. I love that shit. She had a goal, a way to crush that goal... but the posts kept getting pushed more and more
I hate when mangakas / authors get presumptuous and a character changes, or "the OTP comes together" or blah.

She was a perfect pizza from start to end.

"So if I abandon my mountain of paperwork and just go home, will my overtime get easier?"

Uhhh...yes, actually. As has been pointed out several times this season by characters in the actual show, the only one making Alina work overtime is Alina herself. Most of the other receptionists go home on time and Alina's bosses find her willingness to impose overtime on herself "convenient." In fact, worse than that, Alina forces multiple additional people to work overtime with her over the course of the series, contributing even more to the problem as she goes to absurd lengths to appease and enable her abusive supervisors instead of doing ANYTHING at all to demand her workload be kept reasonable.

I enjoyed it so much but I doubt a second season is forthcoming.

Just like any other episode—Elena swings her hammer, and all problems are solved!

Their opponent can control time, yet she has an overpowered hammer that can stop anything.

I didn’t enjoy this anime, and I wouldn’t recommend watching it. It’s a very average anime with an empty story and forgettable scenes.

**5/10** – I don’t hate it, but I didn’t enjoy it at all.

There's no problem that a good bonk can't fix, sometimes. What a way to end the final fight against the timelord, bonk through time again but harder.

The woes of overtime may not end anytime soon, but they always have each other. Power of friendship rocks.

slightly disappointed in the final fight tbh, thought cloverworks would give us a little more oomph… oh well, fairly enjoyable anime overall - the overtime shtick got sooooo old after a while but I mean it is the whole point of the show, so can’t complain too much. Love Rie Takahashi but this wasn’t my favorite role of hers, the screaming could be a little much

It was alright like a 6 or a 7. Comedy was ok not a fan of the overused overtime jokes and scenes. And the seriousness is a bit bland and boring. At the end almost no change occured about the characters. I dont think its a waste of time but i'm not gonna recommend this to anyone.

Characters 6.5/10
Story 4.5/10
Animation 6/10
Art 7/10
Overall Hittite 6.5/10

And the fight ends with a SuperSaiyan,

And the part Alina is most pissed about isn't the daughter thing... but her promise about having less overtime... LOL

BTW, "The dead can't be brought back" (not really true if there's an actual skill called "Revive" that can heal a person back from near death... which mean if that was to go Dia level and higher... I am pretty sure it can actually revive the dead, lol)

.

And the Guildmaster being dom'd by Alina... OOF (TBH, I want Alina to do that to me, then I can do it back to her, and she do me again, would fun)

Alina is now the hidden Guildmaster, LOL (she's the one ordering everyone now)

.

But yea, overall... this was an interesting series, but the only thing that's keeping me in is Alina being smol and cute. Other characters (besides the other smol receptionist) are all kinda mid...

(especially not really into the whole "Stalker turn to Lover" plot they gave to Jade x Alina...) (but hey, at least the series is still more wholesome compared to some other Fantasy series that seems to always have Rape and Slavery in it...)

.

Good thing they didn’t end the anime with a big surprise cliffhanger.

Huh, and here I thought the cliffhanger was them revealing the person that told the Guild Master about the Dark God also possess Dia skill.

Guess there was an even bigger cliffhanger, lol.

And what did I say? Alina will wipe the floor with Glen and that's exactly what she did. That za warudo timestop didn't do jackshit when it was a sigurth skill, it didn't do jackshit even as a dia skill. Get wrecked by Megumin bitch. She didn't even use explosion lol

6. It was fine. I won't watch any sequels though. I hope they won't bother. There's a lot more worthy shows out there.

Glen needs to understand that manipulating the silver sword and turning evil from a dark gods core is one thing. But not honoring Alina's promise to hire more receptionists so she can be freed from overtime is truly despicable!

This show was fun, the dub was awesome, and I learned that even in a fantasy world the mundane problems can be more overwhelming then the fantastical ones.

Ok this had a rocky start, but it got better over time and I loved this final battle. The overtime gag got old real quick for me and I'm the one who love gags, but it was so stupid after half of the first episode. The power up she got at the end was awesome and I hope to see so more of that in season 2. I give this season a 7/10.

As a city worker- I completely understand the pain of overtime.

Series wasn’t a masterpiece, there wasn’t any individual element that made it stand out this season, but it was an enjoyable take on the genre and the different approach to the main character was fascinating; the guild receptionist as the overpowered MC? Who would guess.

Chances are there won’t be a season 2; the “thanks for watching” card at the end makes that obvious- but the story we got did end on a satisfying enough conclusion. And if there’s more source material, who knows, maybe they’ll revisit in a few years.

One of the better shows I watched this season; especially with the sheer amount of fantasy shows that did come out. One more Winter 2025 show finished

What a great premise
What a boring weak execution
It justs weak and boring on every level with annoying characters, annoying plot development, annoying pacing
Everything feels irrelevant too

I'm excited for then we get other Receptionist anime, because the idea is fertile, but this was terrible.

I thought that this finale was good with a surprise reveal that someone wants to keep Glen quiet and silenced him but at least he's still alive so this isn't quite over yet.

Regarding this series as a whole, it started out fairly strong and entertaining but the overtime shtick got old especially towards the end. They showed other receptionists during regular work hours but usually the overtime only had Alina and Laila with Jade sometimes helping. Maybe the other girls were working overtime offscreen but regardless the overtime should've been taken care of early on or Alina should've switched careers. If she had become an adventurer I think she would've work less hours but I understand it's more dangerous and with what happened to her mentor (the guy that died) this is the safer alternative.

Anyways, I'd watch a S2 if one is ever announced.

A big battle took place against Guildmaster Glen—they really took a heavy beating by the end, though. My suspicion was spot-on, as Glen himself was being used by someone else.

Until the end, Alina only wanted one thing: to have less workload, but unfortunately for her, that never happened lol. Jade, on the other hand, still isn't close to Alina, but he managed to catch her heart. Seeing Lululee and Lowe was another highlight of the show, and I love how they act like a couple.

The season finale ended on a rather good note. The anime was enjoyable, and the relationships between the characters were interesting to watch.

The show started out good. It had a funny premise that any working adult could appreciate. The MC, Alina was funny, likable and relatable. But as the show went on, the usual bs kept popping up.
Cliche after cliche from tsundere girl thats supposed to be an adult but acts like a child to someone thats interested in her in instead of telling him she is or interested. Alina actually did tell him that but that was only because she was being childish and not understanding her feelings. Which she only realized she had for him when she saw other girls fawning over him and after he started treating her normally, like he did with all the other girls that threw themselves at him. She told him she wanted him to go back to the way he used to treat her, only so she could keep being rude to him and leading him on.
The side characters werent that great or memorable.
Lowe was as basic as it gets. Aside from running, he was backially useless.
Lululi was the typcal annoying loli that constantly spouts naive bs you hear from children in anime, except shes supposed to be older than Alina. She constantly needed Lowe and Jade to reasure her of her capabilty as a part of Silver Sword even though that team is supposed to be elite.
jade was a basic MC in any other show. Aside from not taking no as an answer from Alina, he was just basic.
The "big bad" guy was predictable from episode 4 or 5. There werent many characters that were introduced to viewers that fit the Man In Black Robes' description aside from the guild master or I even thought it might be Shroud since we was talked about in Alina's past. So I thought they might try to drop that twist on us that he didnt actually die and Alina would have this traumatizing moment where she had to fight him. But there werernt many other characters introduced to us in that world so the list of who it could be were slim.
The most thing that can be called weird in the show that these degen show devs did was the weird angles on Alina's skirt. That thing was far too short. And they kept having her sit in weird positions that would have shown her panties. Its useless fan service for horny little kids who havnt touched a woman yet. It lowers the value of the show. From an immersive perspective, Alina wouldnt wear a skirt that short. Even if it was the uniform, her whole gimmich was fighting the system in some way. From finding and working out a way to not work over time anymore to taking into her own hands to go take out a dungeon boss. She would have done the same thing about her cheeks being out and reducing the chances of being hit on by pos guys.
Overall, show was mid. But so are most shows being made these days. So it fits in.

I love that Alina stayed true to her goal. I didn't want her to change at all. It's pretty obvious that the only way to escape from overtime work is to just become an adventurer, but the show didn't let that happen and I'm quite satisfied, same with the romance between Alina and Jade. It's not bad but it's not good, it's just fine. 6/10 at MAL. Finished on 25th August 2025 at 12:26 Hrs IST.
