kinda dislike the ending when they have to go to this earth, I thought we were just going to fight this god and get over with, feels like a sequel but it's very hard to do with original anime not based on manga and I don't think this was popular enough.
Still, a very good anime 8/10

My glob, that was one heck of a fun ride. There wasn’t a single dull episode and i binged through the whole series in two days. I really hope this gets a second season. This anime was a mecha/action lovers dream - giant robots that primarily fight hand to hand, without any boring space politics. It was shiny, and beautiful. The only way to beat a giant evil robot is with an even big giant robot. These creators understand this principal and all the cosmic baby bullshit just gives it a weird quirky originality. 9/10.
Love this show.

I loved this show right up until the end. Things really ramp up with each passing episode as you learn more about the world and the characters living within it.

The characters? So many epic lines were spoken, mostly during battle, where the theme of conviction really shines through.

The mystery of something bigger lurking just in the background, that being the purpose of the world wall was something else that kept me wondering and eagerly awaiting the next episode, and the conclusion didn't disappoint.

I love shows with imagination, and this one had it in spades.

I think that was a big factor in me getting into this pretty quickly too.

I definitely tend to gravitate toward shows that go for this big ambitious discovery angle (my fav to this day is probably still Last Exile for example).
I agree, it was fun how the epic lines fed into their convictions so it felt part of the charm factor of the characters and added to their likability when they declared them lol, which ended up being quite enjoyable. Like even Zetsu is much more simple and less sinister than you'd first expect lol.
It was also a lot of fun, the mix of very straightforward emotions, fun, and action made me think of when I also enjoyed Taniguchi's Gun X Sword.

Wild. I was entertained from start to the finish. Show had great energy and very simple but very likeable characters. Emperor Zetsu rules! Would 11/10 follow him to the ends of the world. I appreciate the honesty of this. It never pretended to be something it's not. It always knew it was dumb energetic journey. I wish the ending was more conclusive and also developed some character relationships more but it's okay. Wish for second season or some other sort of continuation in the future but I doubt it's likely.

Same, I think you touched on a lot of my thoughts and much more succinctly than I was writing them. I was surprised just how much fun I had with this one. It was so energetic and quick moving with the discoveries and easily likable characters that I really ended up binging this show surprisingly quickly. While they were very simple I think the setting's rules tying in their personal character convictions directly into the essence of their character and fights ended up a surprisingly smooth shorthand way to make their simplicity more charming than weakness watching in the moment. Like you said it was well-served being such a very honest show and I liked how that also followed through with very few moments that felt artificially manipulative or out of character.

Yeah, doubt it'll happen but given the ending was both a decent stopping point and a potentially interesting new opening a second season or even just a nice movie would be cool to cap off a few more things with the characters.

cluster fuck of an episode, if it had a few more episodes towards the end to flesh it out it would have been better I think. They stacked the deck too hard with a lot of things happening simultaneously

Yeah, it started off on a rather strange but ambitious note and, as feared, just couldn’t keep it up. Whole god plot turned out to be a mess and, the final fight looked good, but the buildup was not quite there.

Sugita-san’s character was easily the best of the lot and I quite liked the dark version of the Princess, lmao.

1st Op and 2nd ED were pretty good, though.
