I can't really see it happening. There is too much best friends for life energy going there.

Their duo is definitely amazing and I love seeing them fight together but I can never see anything romantic happening between them.

Actually I can't see anything happening with kugisaki and any of the current boys in the show... There really isn't much to work with, and when I think about kugisaki's back story and her attachment to Maki, I don't think she has any interest in the opposite sex, or she is definitely more into girls than guys.
